Well, all very interesting, and what a great idea bossreggie! I'm interested in Option #1, though I cannot commit to anything without dates and finer details (and a couple of other external factors). If for some reason Option #1 did not work for me, I may still make my own way, but as someone once said, carpe diem! Not often (well, virtually never) an opp to fly in a private jet arises for many of us.

How about a date of Thursday 26 January 2012 to make the flight.

So we have worked out that 8 people on the Gulfstream, what number for lunch would be a good size.

Also to nail down some more details, what would the menu cost, $200 cheap or $400, is there anyway to find out some more details.

Essendon Airport sounds ok, I could add another airport to my list.

Also what about the options of 1 ways, yes I know that adds complexity but I thought I would ask.

Sorry lots of questions but I thought if we are serious about this then we need to nail down some details.

In relation to dates, I suggest we do create some type of poll as was suggested earlier.

8 People is the minimum, however we could get up to 16.

I will try and have an answer for you regards the 1 way once I have pricing back.

As for lunch, It is a large restaurant and they have a couple of private rooms. Depending on the level of interest, I'd ensure we were all catered for.

In relation to the price. The reason I said between $200 and $400 is because the meal can be tailored to suit our requirements. (When myself and +1 go we usually spend around $2k for our meal including drinks. I know this is not in everyone's budget though which is why I am prepared to "cap" the price and pay the balance myself)

I'll be there with bells on depending on the date of course.

I've flown CBR-SYD for lunch before but never overseas. I reckon this would be an awesome experience.

I'd choose an option where I made my own way to NZ.

Three days after I get back from India probably would not work for me.

I think we would need a longer planning time. Not just for the plane... But the restaurant too. I'd want Simon (the owner) to cook for us, so he would have to be available.

I'm away in Europe at the end of this month, and it's my sister's 40th on 27th January so I'd not like to be away then.

How about Sunday 11 March 2012. :idea::lol::oops::rolleyes:

Depending on dates, I'm really keen to attend the "Auckland Lunch of the Year'.
I feel like I've really missed out not being able to attend the Brisbane OR Melbourne Christmas drinks!
(Probably use a combination of paid flight and JASA as the budget just cannot stretch enough for Option 1)

Thanks for coming up with such an awesome idea :D

I'm still interested depending on dates. Would love the jet option :) :)
( telling myself it's less than the cost of the latest bag I have been coveting/ dreaming about ;) )

Yep I'm telling myself it is less than SWMBO's summer "Lewis" handbag.

As ever bossregie your generosity and hospitality to us is unparalleled. Sadly I can't cough up for Option 1 (unless the bonus this year is more than expected) but I have two trips planned to NZ in 2012 and if the dates align (likely to be March and "later in the year") then I can work around that.

Having dined at Euro as a Chef's "guest" I think everyone will be very happy with the food, service and experience!

Perhaps QFF could sponsor the next AFF do aboard Option 1......

We could reconfigure to 2 extra seats to accommodate Simon and Steph yes?

I think the 15th = The Ides? Which intrigues re significance of the 11th. ;)

Most likely. I'd guess the 11th is someone's birthday, possibly the one making the suggestion.
