Great to see you back in the fold, bossreggie!:D

Such a great pity, some people can't appreciate the kindness of others and respond appropriately. It saddens me greatly to hear that some people take such kindness for granted. I always enjoyed your experiences and wisdom here and am looking forward to reading more soon. :)

I think while these clowns did abuse the priviledge and are hopefully no longer members of the site, i think that it would be likely/hopefully that the majority of people out there would be half decent enough not to abuse people's generosity, even in a way less over the top fashion than this bunch did... I think/hope then the majority of people that did act like clowns and were asked to leave would usually just move on with life rather than making total @sses of themselves... You obviously hit the jackpot with this lot... :!::shock:

From my travels staying in hostels where i've bumped into a lot of decent people and don't often feel the need to desperately lock all my possessions up like fort knox (while taking a few sensible prcautions) to having couch surfed with people where i have been left in their homes over night and respected their possessions and had couch surfers come and stay with me and left them the key to my house while going to work, i take the approach that the majority of people out there are half decent and mostly just wanting to basically do the right thing and generally choose to believe that until proven otherwise...

I'm part of couch surfers too. A lot of times I've handed a perfect stranger my keys and then gone out - almost without fail my flat is left in a better state than I've found it (and a couple of bottles of wine to add to the rack to boot :) ) And some awesome new friends spread across the globe.

I've also had bossreggie crash... champagne breakfast and all the pastries the local bakery had to offer

At some stage we should have a bossreggie appreciation lunch in AKL:o:o

I try to not tell SWMBO, which is hard when I need financial approval, as she then bags me about going to see men I met on the internet.

Yes - "I can't believe you have meetings in lounges.... It's not normal to fly just to visit a lounge and meet up with 'lounge buddies'"

Excellent plan..... Like anyone here needs an excuse to visit an F lounge.... But it would be prior to a legitimate QF flight ;)

I seem to recall I left my keys in your house and we drove through town in my brand new MB convertible with the roof down and there was singing...... Or was that someone else??

You did supermarket shopping with a glass of wine in your hand... at around 11am!

Well..... To be fair...... It WAS 1pm in Auckland.:D

And....... Was there singing??

There was definitely a topless convertible that kept getting itself illegally parked. And there may well have been singing.

There were things that shall NOT be mentioned.

I have read through a lot of the thread and I am shocked and hope the people who acted that way are not on this forum anymore.

Everyone I have meet so far dinners have been perfect mannered at all times.

Again I am sorry for humanity that we have treated someone so bad when you guested them into a lounge and that is the thanks you get for it.

I hope to catch up with you one day and I will guest you in...

Craig

Dear Bossreggie,

I have just read this and it sounds like a terrible experience.

I think as you have done it is best to put it behind you and move on.

I have met AFF members in various lounges but never guested one I have not met before in. After your experience I definitely wouldn't.

best wishes,

I would love to join in if allowed (and I am around)

I'm in, as long as I don't have to eat bluff oysters ;)

I'm with the princess on this

(I'm sure between the 2 of us we can make it a meeting acceptable to the ATO for persons of similar ilk!)

Sorry to hear of your bad experience.

Honestly, I can't understand how people could act in such a way... I'd worship the ground you walk on if I was guested into a J lounge let alone the exclusive CL!

Cheers,

I could eat your share of the oysters:!:

You MAY have to beat me to them Bill.

Actually they are doing a lovely palate cleanser for me ATM. Kaffir Lime Leaf sorbet served with a Dark Rum.

Was absolutely delicious.
