The 19th of October is an auspicious occasion, what with it being my 39th birthday. In a practice run for the BIG one next year, I want to carry on with the original plans for a night out in Brisbane on this date.

Previous discussions were centered around Irish Murphy's for dinner then drinks, or alternatively a QFF points awarding restaurant followed by drinks elsewhere.

I'm open to suggestions, please let me know if you are keen to attend.

PS: I'm still working on Nigel to get him to come along, nobody is going to bully me out of having a birthday celebration.

I'll put it my diary, but my commitment issues mean I can't let you know til closer to the date

totes in!
Your birthday and Nige? going to be super fun.
Up for wherever and whatever as always.

I've just had an email from Annette generously offering us the use of the lounge for this gathering. We should all have our new Gold/Plat cards by then and we can get together and show them off.

Let me know what you all think? I was thinking we could head to the lounge a bit earlier than last time and then head off to dinner a bit later than originally planned but not ridiculously late.

Thoughts?

Isn't that generous of her! I enjoyed being there last week.

5pm type entry to lounge -> 7pmish. Jump on Airtrain Fortitude Valley/City/Spring Hill/South Bank in 30 mins. Dinner started by 8pm and wrapped up around 10pm.

Would work for me.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, sounds like a good plan.

I am a maybe...

Very close to SWMBO birthday not sure if going away for it yet.

I'll put my name down as attending, although I may not be able to get to the airport for the pre-event.

I've got tutoring until 6pm, and that's if my students let me off the hook at that time. I'll probably only be able to meet directly in the city for the main event.

That is awesome!
Totally there.
If we are going to the Valley - Enjoy Inn? SuperBowl (if we are keeping the price down)?
Taez

Maybe you can bring three students along as your guests! :p

Are you nuts:?: The university could have my backside on a platter for that... :-|

In any case, I just won't be able to make it to the airport in time. Even with an expensive $60 taxi ride from St Lucia to the Airport, I'll be lucky to slip in a quick tipple before everyone gets up to head back to the city. That's an expensive tipple.
