As mentioned in the previous Brisbane drinks thread there is a drinks night in Brisbane on Wednesday, 20 May 2009 ~5:30pm.

The venue is The Mill Hotel Bar & Restaurant. It is located on Wickham Terrace, on the corner of Bartley St, next to Brisbane Private Hospital, opposite the old Tower Mill and ~100 metres from Jacobs Ladder.

Quite a few I would guess. That is why I mentioned Special Guest of Honour. Sorry guys but Victorians do not count as Special Guests of Honour at this event. I can see this thread has generated a bit of interest already with still ~4 weeks to go.

Kens is not a mis-spelling - that how our North 'merican friends pronounce the word Cairns.

Say Cairns to them (as in HAIR with a C instead the H, S on the end) and they'll likely scratch their heads.

Say KENS to them and they say Oh! - Kens (Cairns)!

The Brisbane Drinks night will definitely be in Brisbane. The Victorians have ambushed this thread trying to establish their own drinks nights.

Seems like we are having dueling drinks threads. Ours will win.

It is not a duel nor a competition as the 2 cities are so far apart it is impossible to compete. Also Melbourne is ~3 times the size of Brisbane and I do not believe the Melbourne drinks night will be successful as they do not have the organisational skills of the Brisbane drinks night regulars.

With that being said though the Brisbane drinks nights could be on it's last legs....

If IainF was ever in BNE, I'm sure I could get him to come along. Problem is, he's spending weeks away (in SYD & MEL mostly).

I had to have an appt with him in SYD last week, while we were both there. Very unnatural.
