Brisbane Drinks [25th] January 2012

I've just arrived back from an appointment with a client near the airport, so have a couple of things to tidy up before I can leave. I'm expecting to leave here at 4.30 to 4.45pm and will be leaving MJ's between 6 and 6.30pm.

I am 6'3", dressed in black pants (thin pin stripe) and purple/mauve shirt with white stripes. Generally eavesdropping into conversations will tell you if the group are FF's . As I use my real name here, it's probably easy to ask "Are you Lindsay" than a screen name (if you ask the wrong group, you'll get some weird looks and probably be embarrassed).

I will have some AFF bag tags on the table/bar to help people out.

The island dining host was very eager to please tonight. Found me, asked if I wanted to try the Ocean Trout Nicoise, and when I declined the wine with my meal, he offered to walk the 5 paces to the bar and get me a soft drink. Great service.

Also had lovely flight attendants who were surprised and wanted me to fill them in when they discovered me back in 1A on the turnaround.

Despite the weather it's been a good day.




I'd have come, could have made it with these delays, but might not have made it back to the airport. Currently they're trying to clear flights ASAP as a storm cell is supposedly approaching, but I see very little on my radar app.

Hope you all had a great night. Was just too tired after a 0300 wake up call this morning & the next two days for work plus road closures due to flooding making commuting extra challenging.

To those going on the Flounge run this weekend, I look forward to meeting up with you all then.

Were any of the BNE/DRW/BNE F/A's the usual suspects ie Narelle, Tony, Marnie, Gaby, Mim or Louis? DRW is a fairly senior trip so often the F/A's who bid for & get those trips each have between 20-30 years service under their belt (one has 40 years). :shock: :shock:

The sugar shaker ... remember staying there a lot in the early-to-mid-80s with my family.

Twas a good night, good to put some new online names to real names to faces (hint - I forget easily, so please don't take offence if I don't always recognise you straight away next time!).

PineappleSkip and myself were the last to leave MJs. It was funny, cause I actually did intend to leave much earlier yet somehow departed last?!

Will have to track down my (current) PP card, If I actually knew I'd eat there tonight I would have brought a member's guest pass and we could have had 4 for 2 rather than 3 for 2 for the meals. Oh wells. Better planning next time! (Food was great though).

Early start again for me tomorrow. Was (relatively) well behaved so should be ok.

Sorry I had to be the first to leave last night - actually the welcome when I got home was surprisingly cordial - but both the kids were in bed, my daughter already asleep (Katie can probably relate to that).

Was great to put faces to handles. Many thanks to Nigelinoz for being the conduit for the meeting and his generousity. Great to see bossreggie again, albeit briefly. Travel Guru, did you make it in time for the OOL pickup? GPH, a small world isn't it....
