Brisbane Lounge Changes

First visit to the BNE International Qantas lounge tonight. Lounge is OK but I have clearly been in too many lounges.

No self service fridge for beers and soft drink? I am sitting at the single desktop and the ice in my glass is melting and would love some Diet Coke but it's a long walk back to the bar.

The food is OK with some curry as the hot option along with soup and some. Some rice, boiled potatoes and some salads. They are staying open late for the CX flight which has been delayed tonight.

I only brought a phone charger with a Thai power supply and cannot find a single power point that accepts anything other than Australian chargers. And no adapters available either. Hope the EK lounge has some adapters.

Yea, nice lounge but nothing exciting about it. Some good Breakfast options (menu changes monthly) and attentive service. Everyone is very kind here. I like chillaxing on the 2nd floor, had it all to myself this morning :)

Well, I am passing through there in a couple of weeks flying Business Class and will not be impressed if that is the same for me.

I typically arrive on the "red-eye" ex PER at around 05:30 and go straight over to BNE Intl and into a lounge for a little bit of "shut-eye" followed by a light breakfast and a strong coffee before heading off overseas.

If the Plaza Premium is offered then I would think people will be packed in like sardines. My times through there on VA (06:00 to around 09:00) it is usually full of VA passengers going off to Bali, Honiara, Port Moresby and several NZ flights. I think that there is a LAX flight as well around that time, may be wrong.

I just guess that if I get offered the $40 voucher I will take it and then use the Priority Pass or AMEX Plat to get in the lounge! Shame you couldn't use the voucher at Duty Free. :)

Was surprised as a business class passenger to be told no lounge access at Brisbane International. Only exception was for Emerald.

Palmed off with a food and beverage voucher.

Pathetic.

Ummm... you quoted a rather old post which was made in July 2016, well before the new lounge was open (and the old one was closed in the interim so the new lounge could be built). The new QF International Business Lounge at the International Terminal was open since October 2016.

I'm sure you'll have no troubles getting in with your Business Class ticket.

My sincere apologies. A combination of old age, getting my years mixed up and a decision to ditch VA and come back to QF!

Looking forward to trying it out in a couple of weeks!

In the J lounge at the moment for the first time. Loved the premium entry and the lounge staff are wonderful. I forget how many times we have been asked if they can get us something and one of the staff is walking around at the moment with a tray of glasses of mineral water, offering to people. Just fabulous service. We are in the J lounge because we are flying J, but strangely enough my boarding pass says I am platinum - pretty sure it said gold on the way up. So I could have used this lounge on the basis of my weirdo boarding pass. I did go and check my account and I am definitely gold, so an old Database being accessed or something?

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth :)
(Even though you are eligible anyway)

Agree, Flying Mermaid. We were there a few hours ago, and the proactive service from the moment of entry was an unexpected bonus. Unrealistic to think that it would spread to much busier lounges but somebody there is doing something right.
Well done to all involved. :)

Are you Lifetime Gold? You may have got a comp to Platinum as per another report from Ikara.
I am lifetime gold, but when I went and checked my ff account, it said gold, so no comp, just a weirdo boarding pass :)

we must have been there at the same time? I told the Qantas lounge person at the entrance how great I thought they were and he said he would pass it onto them.

Yes, perhaps we overlapped, Flying mermaid. Sorry to miss you. :)
I responded to a How was Qantas survey and gave kudos to the Lounge staff, too.
Next up, we try Darwin and see if they compare favourably.

Yes I am planning to send something in and also for CSM Umberto. Would like to have said hi :). Darwin - hmm :)

Late to the party but finally got to experience the domestic J lounge this weekend.

I really liked it. Such a MASSIVE improvement over the old space it's like night and day. The bar is huge and expansive with lots of areas to sit and eat or relax. The refreshment station is pretty neat and the options are interesting and tropical. Staff were all great and I was impressed.

Cantina was smaller than I expected and the options didn't impress me too much but they were doing decent "Business" (get it?) with a few going back for seconds I noticed so that's pretty good :)

My only minor nit pick was that, entering the lounge "precinct" from airside you pass by the QC first, and the staff wanted to check my BP there, and then obviously I needed to be checked to get into the J lounge, so that was an extra stop. Not sure why the QC entry staff felt they needed to check my BP when I was not moving to enter that space, but that's only minor.

next month I'll come from landside and use the premium entry so see how that is.

I really think the changes are very very good (but it wasn't hard to improve on the old space)

If you're late then I'll be very late. I may not get to the new space even in 2018. It all depends on whether I get a DSC offer and whether I decide to go for P1 or not. If I don't then I likely won't be back in BNE till at least 2019.

Really enjoying the new lounges both domestic and international. The boss thinks domestic business is better and after yesterday morning's experience I'd have to agree. Happy friendly staff---going around and asking customers if they'd like another coffee etc. breakfast offerings were fresh and hot and plentiful. Still haven't been here in the afternoon but will 'fix' that next fortnight

Any later reports on Brisbane international lounge?
Due to some good sales from BNE to LAX I am up there a couple of times this year .
Was wondering how it was progressing now it is some time passed changes

I still think the BNE domestic lounge is 'better' than the International lounge but having said that, we've totally enjoyed both lately
