1. Aurora borealis northern lights
2. Galápagos Islands
3. Great Pyramids of Giza
4. Visit Hawaii
5. Great Wall of China.
6. It would be good to visit some of the places that were on my previous bucket list until I actually visited them, Paris, Berlin and Dublin, I have been to each place for less than 2 days, but it would be nice to visit them properly spending some time at each location, but I don't want to visit these locations alone but with a someone else, either family or a good friend.

Paddy55 you know that Qantas have invented JASAs just for this reason to visit places in Australia cheaply.

For me:

1. Galapagos Islands
2. Ayers Rock / Uluru
3. Broome
4. F in CX & SQ
5. Orient Express

... would be top 5

The crazy thing is the rule that you can't stay in the outside lane for too long. Freaked me out in my brothers people mover, with snow tires on, to have fast cars cut across 3 lanes from the outside to the inside lane and then back again.

That's the really fun part!

;)

1. Venice
2. New York
3. A Cruise
4. Singapore
5. Carnevale in Rio De Janeiro
6. Mexico/Cancun
7. Staying at The Burj in Dubai

Can't think of much more at this stage...will cross off 1 and 4 next year and possibly 2 and 7.

This thread makes me feel sad. From the list there are still sooooooooo many more places that I want to go to!!

I have been to almost 40 countries but there seems to be sooooooooo much more out there.

I'd be sadder if there wasn't anything left to do...

Just start making some plans and knock a few off year by year... :)

The northern or southern lights are probably the hardest item for me, as they are pretty ephemeral and so you often have to be at the right place at the right time, plus i dislike the cold and dark, prefer to go to warm places in the middle of summer, so even less chance of seeing them by lucky chance...

Working on doing the following before I die:

My list has a bit of common ground here. I've already done the Karakoram (in a 4wd not a bike though), India in depth and taught english in Tokyo for a year. I'm very intersted in the 'stans/Silk Road too. Other spots on the list include Mali, Uganda, and Romania. Nature's shows also dictate destinations: Christmas Island crabs, northern lights and swimming with the whale sharks.

I'm working on a financial plan that would allow us to take 6-12mths off every 6-7 years in which to do these things.

Have seen it before and agree with your sentiments. Life is too short to wonder what could've been. I've done quite a few things on people's bucket lists here, flown F on the A380 and CX777, walked the Great Wall of China, seen the Terracotta Warriors, been to New York etc.

Most of us here have fortunate lives and are able to enjoy the finer things of life. This is partly a result of accident of birth and by dint of sheer hard work. As long as we recognise this I think we can make the world a better place as we travel.

Am currently updating my bucket list and will post when complete.

We drove the Ring of Kerry and Ring of Dingle in Southern Ireland. Lovely!
We took the double SQ Suite so that we could sleep together while retaining a window seat each for dining and movies. One way on SQ Suites the points are 91,375 from LHR to SIN. I paid Standard points for the second seat as it is still great value at around 178k points.

Booking a couple of things on our list for our x-mas Trip......

Airboat ride through the Everglades of Florida
Helicopter flight/landing Grand Canyon
DisneyLand (this one is on the kids list)
Finally seeing LA after transiting 30 odd times

I still want quite a few trips around the sun before I kick the bucket.
A drive around America in a unlimited mileage hire car is on my list staying at lovely hotels like Little America.
In 1984 we did it with a pretty small budget so I would like to do the drive in style and maybe do 12,000 to 15,000 miles in 2 months to see all the sights.

Did that in 2009. Highly recommended.
