Hi there regular business class travellers - is it 'OK' to travel business class with a baby (15 months old)? It will be a short haul day time flight (4 hours Sydney/Fiji). Thanks

Plenty do it.
Don't be scared, and use the flight attendants to the best of your advantage to give both parents a break.
Ignore the naysayers.

Why not. Your money I presume....your choice.

If somebody told me that my 12 month old grand daughter could not travel in J, I'd....I'd.... I'd rip their intestines out with my bare claws!

As per other posts, while some will suggest it is not OK, it is your absolute right to travel in J with an infant.

We have already done it. SYD-HKG-TPE on CX J with my 8 month old infant. That's like almost 11 hours worth of flying. It is within your right to do it as long as the tickets are paid.

Of course, you should go for it. Babies and Business class were made for each other. :D

If the infant stays quiet for most of the time sure

If the infant is going to scream for most of the time then NO

i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you are joking....if not... WTF??? .... as a side note..they can easier to keep quiet than some J/C 'adult' pax!!!

Nope not joking at all and it's pretty simple really. If the baby is going to scream and cry for most of the time then they should not be in business/first!

Also while some may claim it's their "right" to put a baby in business/first, it's also my right to have a peaceful environment to sleep/watch/drink/do nothing as that's what I have paid for

So then it's my right to tell you as the parents to shut the baby up if it's going to scream and cry for more than say 30 mins on a long-haul flight, along with telling a member of the crew that I am not happy with the noise and that the baby should be taken care of

I thought that is what the noise cancelling headphone is for?

Noice cancelling headphones don't block out a babys scream

Absolutely correct - I find that gin does a pretty good job though :).

To the OP - I'm sure it'll be fine, I've travelled with babies in J in the past and it was a lot easier to keep them amused, get them to sleep than it was in Y. For a 4 hour daytime flight I can't see any problems.

lovestotravel, you need to get a life, lucky you have not been on my flights with our baby as you would have been taught manors by now I can assure you. Its bogans like you who are worse than children on a flight.

You are accusing him of being a bogan but can't spell manners. Please...

I flew First from BKK to SYD with our 18 month old. He was the best behaved in the cabin. The looks we got when we boarded were priceless though. But he was asleep on the runway and woke up on descent. It was a most enjoyable flight.

Go go for it. Don't feel bad. And if he cries - oh well - that happens.

My SIL and her 2 kids aged 4 and 7 just flew first with Emirates from Dubai to Sydney... They do it 4 times per year and have done so since the kids were born!

LOL

Kialla :) That's a pretty bogan free area yeah :) ?

Oh and it's manners not manors

But even more funny is that manners would be ensuring that your baby screaming and crying doesn't annoy others on the flight :)
