With 2 stays at MEL Airport and MEL Southbank next week and a trip to Perth next month, should get me on track for re-qualifying Gold for next year (very important, given our 6 week trip where we'll be burning all my points on award stays - plus a couple of paid ones).
LW,

I would expect that the Gold will be valid until Mar 2012.

You are correct. My 2 existing stays (5 nights) plus my increasing travel may just get me re-qualified for 2012.

I may struggle with the 16 stays or 36 night requirement by the end of this year, but not sure whether the double base points that I chose may give me the edge on re-qualifying against the 60K base point hurdle. If they are all counted then perhaps I'll get it :?:

Generally, any Bonus HHonors points earned are not counted for (re)qualification.

For status it's "Base" points only, earned at 10 per USD.

My account still hasn't increased :(, but they a couple of days left :!:

Just rang Adelaide Hilton, who transferred me to Member Services as my request online for credit hadn't been processed. Got put through to the Diamond desk, so wasn't complaining.

Strangely, they had no request, so have submitted one for me. I'll give them 14 days and see if it's been processed.

Also asked them for a FastTrack back to Gold. She put me on Hold and came back after a while to say that they had upgraded me back to Gold, without the need for a FastTrack. Just logged out and logged back in and sure enough - HHonors Gold VIP below my name. Woo hoo :D

Had to escalate my ADL mis-posting using another members' little black book (contact at ADL Hilton) and it has been successfully fixed to my complete satisfaction .

Interestingly, my contact advised that my issue was that there were 2 confirmation numbers for my stay (my even though I had 2 rooms booked under the same confirmation number when viewing the email from HHonors Reservations, perhaps a "ghost" confirmation number was also recorded for that second room ).

Anyway, I believe that the confirmation number that posted to my account had $19.54USD attached to it, whereas the second confirmation number had the balance ($940 USD). Needless to say, with assistance from HHonors USA, all combined and credited to my account and a recent re-fresh of my account has the corrected points balance.

Now to see why my recent Melbourne Airport posted with 0 points (yet the following nights' stay at South Wharf posted correctly). Where is that little black book

Even after two emails to Hilton Melbourne Airport (and then the Operations Manager), they have failed to review and change the posting of my stay there, or even the basic customer service tenet of contacting me to discuss my complaint. The Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport is starting to look very attractive :p.

So I escalated it via a telephone call to Customer Care in Australia (well, transferred to USA) and after the CSA told me it was posted as an "ineligible rate" (tell me something I didn't know ), she told me she would refer it to "somebody else" and woluld I happily stay on hold. Before she put me on hold, I told her it as booked on the Hilton web site so could hardly be an "ineligible rate" and to look at my following night (Hilton South Wharf), that had a very similar rate code yet was posted correctly.

Needless to say, she came back 3 minutes later to advise that I had now been credited with 4,611 HH points and the stay credit and night had been posted as well. True enough, upon next refresh, my HH Account is showing:

186,893 TOTAL POINTS
Stays Completed: 4
Nights Completed: 7
Base Points: 16,489

So what was so hard about that, Hilton Melbourne Airport :confused:

Now to start spending them on free nights next year in Europe, before they devalue again :D
