Can Qantas get any worse?

SQ still hand out hot towels in Y, even on the shorter regional flights.
And CX are very liberal with the moist towelettes.

If you think QF can't get any worse, spend some time flying around on AA's 757's. Then you'll think QF is truly a 'premium' airline ;)

My own personal hell... 5 hours MIA - LAX in one of those things in Y, there is nothing worse.

As for QF, they could be better, but they equally could be much much worse...

How's F in the 757's on that route? I'm planning a YUP next year.

Bearable, better than DFW-ANC,ANC-ORD-BOS-LAX in 757s as well. Wide brown leather old old seats on the whole (although they are slowly replacing them)

I did BOS-DFW-LAX on Monday in one. Never. Again.

It can't be as bad as whY. The back of the seats came up to my shoulders. No neck/head support. All you could see was a sea of heads rather than seat backs.

Sounds like a recent Skywest Fokker F50 story I have. The day after a PER-GET and return I discovered that Chiro's are a godsend sometimes!

I was taught not to p*ss on my hands. :D

And I dread to think of the state of the door handles you have to touch on the way out, even if you have scrubbed your hands within an inch of their lives.
I was in the SYD T2 QP toilets a few weeks ago and watched as a "gent" exited one of the cubicles (and from the stench, I don't think he was in there for No1's .. TMI, I know), and headed straight out the door. I regularly see people leaving without washing, but normally from the urinals (bad enough, IMO).

I always open the door with a wad of paper towels. I have some germophobe tendancies :)

A good point! I agree that I dont often have to fight for a hand wash basin often, especially in the QP.

A male friend of mine explained that he washes his hands before going - because he wants them to be clean before he touches the most precious thing he owns..

Perhaps being very considerate..... for others as well :p

Thank goodness I have 2 X chromosomes I don't think I have ever seen anyone leave the ladies without washing their hands - gross!!
No more bar snacks in the QP for me

I have seen how bad girls can be in the past.. in some cases they were worse than guys in the toilet!

Personally I cannot stand people that don't wash their hands!

+1 on both counts

why can't we have no doors to the main entrances to the toilets like in most of singapore

JetLagged;369754]Well, as I am not familiar with the patterns of behaviour in female restrooms (nor wish to be, but there is likely to a a PhD in it for someone).
I used to work for one of the companies that provide the disposables for cleaning up after those events that come out of any human orifice.
There are a number of stats (so no Phd sorry:shock:) on the subject, including who uses the most, number of events each day etc etc. Yes females are better than males at washing hands (if I remember correctly) about 15% of females and 30% of males fail the wash there hands etc after the event of either type:!: A number of people wash before and after.

Non home toilets generally are not as germ ridden as you think, try escalators hand rail, non metal handrails, entry doors to shops and offices, pens used to sign credit card bills, salt and pepper shakers, (all usually related to these not being cleaned during the day) there are a number of others but you may not wish to leave your house... At home kitchen sponges, floors are just as germy.

Note to Jock, welcome to AFF. I know you like the hand towels & they feel really nice and clean, but they leave your hands warm and wet. Wet warm hands pick up and breed germs a lot faster than dry hands. Use a small (less than 100mls) container of an alcohol based hand cleanser. This is far more effective. Just note that these also remove the normal antibacterial flora from your hands at the same time, this is part of the body’s natural defence system on your skin, you “may” be worse off, but at lease have some piece of mind before tucking into your food.

F on the AA 757 (DFW-ANC-DFW) left me with a sore butt...only airline seat I can recall doing so, though I think it was only on one leg. Maybe it was the way I sitting, but they did seem a bit like hard benches.

Mind you, the number of people whom one sees not washing their hands in a public lavatory does raise health worries, especially if they are serving in shops.

Really? This is probably an odd thing to be curious about, but I am. I haven't noticed this problem in female restrooms.

I don't know about you, but I learned not to p1ss on my hand early in life. :p

Besides after seeing a short, balck curlly hair on the basin in the J lounge Thursday night I'm not sure that washing hands is all it's cracked up to be.

I just remember the ads for the automatic hand cleanser pack thingy. I'm still trying to work out why touching the dispenser is a problem for germs when your going to then wash your hands with the stuff that you just squirted out.

Slightly off topic, as a germ-a-phobe, I've mastered the way to use an aircraft lav without touching any "infected surfaces". It involves a couple of elbows, a foot, and plenty of paper towels . . .

Funnily enough, I've seen some crew exit the lav using my technique - so I know I'm not the only one. . .

The crew are working in a food preparation area are they not? Do they have the same hygiene requirements of a similar ground role?an insider can confirm the truing received in this area hopefully.
Cheers. Spruce

Dear oh dear I Certainly hope he wasn't a WP/CL, I will be totally shattered otherwise.

Classic !

My this has certainly gone off topic.

There were some comments earlier about female toilets etc etc. When I was a mere teenager (all those years ago) my first job was in a Service Station. I can swear on a stack of Bibles which loo's were the worst to clean. The "ladies" loo's were absolutely awful.

I am lucky that at such a young and impressionable age that they didn't put me off the "fairer" sex altogether.
