Can Qantas get any worse?

Simple solution to those concerned about no towelettes, a pack of of Wet Ones or such and problem solved.

Classic ! My this has certainly gone off topic.

My apologies (in a way) for having unwittingly changed the direction of this thread - though it is also curious that so many others have wandered down the loo path!

What is even more curious is the OP has not come back with any comments - one cannot but wonder if it is yet another case of a one post wonder with a slanted rant who then disappears into the mists of oblivion and anonymity?

Maybe it's time we gave the OP a chance to come back from their potential oblivion and/or got the thread back on topic. ;)

Thank goodness I have 2 X chromosomes I don't think I have ever seen anyone leave the ladies without washing their hands - gross!!
No more bar snacks in the QP for me

People should be using the scoops for the bar snacks though and not picking up with their hands...?

As an earlier poster said, the little ear-plugs are one thing that's gone that for literally pennies on an airfare, makes a huge difference. And has anyone noticed that the ones you get on BA now are the super cheap yellow foam ones that irritate your ears after about an hour?

The airlines are behaving like Chinese factories - that is we tell them we want it cheaper, and they think that means we will accept a substandard product.

Cutting costs is good, but do it by being more efficient, reducing overheads, etc, not making the quality of your product less!

Don't be confused, I also use the same scoops that have been used by those with unclean hands after a toilet stop for number two's and then eat the bar snacks without washing my hands.

QF still have ear plugs (at least in PE) - you just have to ask for them.

On my last flight when I got them I asked the FA in the galley - there was a whole drawer of them.

Saves wastage. I don't usually use them - but in this case there was a group of people nearby that wanted to talk while I wanted to sleep :)

Unfortunately cost cutting from things in economy appears to be the normal thing for airlines to be doing today.

That being said I think SQ still provides hot hand towels in economy (didn't QF do this until recently?) and CX provides moist towelettes with meals.

Anyway most of the time I do not bother to wash my hands before a meal on an aircraft as my hands do not touch any of the food (unless a bread roll is served and most times I do not eat the bread roll anyway) only the fork.

In a previous life I was often the last person out of a very large workplace (shift worker) and had to check no one was inside when I locked up.

The required me to check the women's toilet block. Let's just say I'm glad I don't have two X chromosones, the filth and disgusting mess was horrendous. Always worse than the mens. Was glad we had separate toilets for the role I performed.

Really? This is probably an odd thing to be curious about, but I am. I haven't noticed this problem in female restrooms.
Well even at medical conferences the hand washing percentage would be around 50% quite often in the male toilets.

As do Vietnam airlines although they are of a cold kind in a plastic package , however, the fact remains it is something...

I have a bottle of hand sanitiser in my carry on at all times - two uses, cleaning hands before eating even in the QP and second, killing my sense of smell by rubbing a little on the inside of each nostril if using Asian squatters!

@ Serfty - an update of the abbreviation list needed:

OPW - One Post Wonder

as is the OP of this thread - a OPW!!

You folks are extending my toilet fetishes. If I visit a toilet and there is no soap....
no handshakes at that place of business.
Now the Sydney domestic terminal toilets up near 10,11 and 12 are a complete shambles and is that a Qantas responsibility? Last week 20% were faulty and there was a bit of a water flood on the floor.
Apparently the ladies toilets are the same but I won't go there.....
