I have been a member of QFF for many years. I recently lost all my points because points balance was inactive for 18 months. I was not aware of this. Can anybody suggest how. may be able to persuade Qantas to reinstate my points balance ?

Welcome to AFF. Sadly, it is something like this that brings you here - lets hope you can get your points back. How long ago did these points 'expire'?

See here for some guidance:

Have you any flights planned?
Or by any chance used a QF ff partner that may be eligible?

I look after several family Qantas ff accounts. Received emails about expiring QF ff points
Keep your Qantas Points from expiring
Hi WXYZ,
As a valued Qantas Frequent Flyer, we automatically extended your Qantas Points expiry over
the past few years and now your final extension is coming to an end. This means your points
are due to expire on 30 June 2023.
Since you have not earned or used a Qantas Point since our last email reminder, you will now
need to take a Qantas or oneworld flight before 30 June 2023 to prevent them from expiring
remembering to add your Qantas Frequent Flyer number to the booking.
Don't forget, your points won’t expire as long as you earn or use one in an 18 month period

You can find more information on all the ways to earn and use Qantas Points here.
Had received other emails before this. Is also on the web site when you log in.

The email is misleading in stating need to take a flight. Don't need to take a OW flight, but earn or burn. Any activity resets the QF 18 month clock.

To keep QF points alive in Australia, if you drive or know someone who does, registering your QF ff number with BP on then web site and then buy some petrol and swipe your QF card when paying is one of the easiest ways.

even weekly walking app points will help - dont even need the Qantas insurance to do it - the well being app will be enough for the points - cause 1 point is enough to keep it open for 18 months. Also to @ppicke Welcome to AFF! hope you will enjoy the people in this forum. They are very friendly and helpful! :)

Give them a call and ask if there's any way to reinstate them, they may offer you a points challenge to earn X points in a certain amount of time in order to get them back.

I received an email from QFFF re the upcoming expiry. Members of Point Hacks were very good and suggested I join QF Wellness which I did with plenty of time before expiry. I had also made store purchases but my points expired on 30bNovember and I have a nil balance. VERY annoyed!!!

Qantas Wellbeing Member so I think I can provide some insight here. Simply installing or even running the QF Wellness app is not enough. You need to meet one of the challenges that earns Qantas Points. For instance, on the iPhone version of the app if you move a certain distance in a given day that will earn some points as will closing your rings (i.e. meeting activity, standing and exercise workout goals for the day). Generally, those points will land a couple of days after hitting the target. Supposing you did hit one of those targets, I'd be checking your account statement to see when they land. If they don't land, I'd call up Qantas Frequent Flyer, explain to them that you did earn points through Wellbeing but it hasn't yet posted to your account in time for your points expiring and see what they can do.

Online purchases through the shopping portal typically take many weeks for it to appear in your account from my experience (i.e. 8-12 weeks type of time frame). The other options that are always available is to spend a small amount, for instance, donating a small number of points to charity (that creates a transaction) or alternatively buying a small number of points (say 1000). Not the most economical way of earning points but if your goal is to simply kick the can down the road for another 18 months, it can be well worth the couple of bucks spent.

What was store purchase? How long before 30 November? (as post above)

Linking your QF freq flyer to BP and spending something. QF points credit quickly in my experience.
Seems now need to join BPMe. I thought I jut linked on line via QF without using an app or joining BPMe.

I have family members with low activity. They get several emails in the months preceding expiry. I then do some thing to keep the accounts alive. But in weeks before, not days before.
