Chicken lady is here with a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries. She's American. And very bossy again. Staff have run for cover but she'll flush em out like she did last time.

'I can't live like this. I can't live like this.' To her partner. Whom she's giving a tongue lashing. She's saying 'it's 6.01. I need to eat. Open the can.'

Oh dear, I really feel for the lounge staff as they go out of their way to be helpful. Based on her performance the other night she sounds a right piece! Anyone who pushes themselves into the kitchen and berates the kitchen staff needs booting in my opinion!

Not sure if Dame Y mentioned it but there was a scene as the woman in question is I think vegetarian and picked up a samosa (which was not labelled as veg but also didn't say if it was meat). It was a chicken one which led to tears, the manager and chef being summoned etc etc etc. One would think as an adult if you had a specific food requirement you would treat all foods with a degree of suspicion until sure. There were lots of vegetarian offerings. The performance was dreadful to witness and the staff were beside themselves.

The Marhaba Lounge is used by Thai and is fine - lots of seating, reasonable food and drink. Could also use the Lufthansa one if I wanted. Gate hadn't been allocated half and hour ago so will check in a minute. Boarding should commence in about half an hour. Boy, some people sure have a lot of luggage. I was gob smacked to see the number of loaded trolleys! My luggage weight has grown with the bits of shopping - 15kg on the way to Singapore and now 19.5kg!! Though I suppose that pales when compared with our dinner companions who had 67 kg each!

Chauffeur arrived early but I was already downstairs. Staying awake nicely.

Friday night in Dubai is party time. Gorgeous cars. Lots of functions.

Enjoyed a quick trip to a deserted airport.

Duty free purchases of single malt whiskey, bourbon for the wee laddies and a fancy bit for MrP (all sorted Dame O). And a quick trip to the pharmac_ for sudafed and up to the lounge.
Dinner. It's 10pm and nothing since lunch. And I don't plan on eating on the plane.

Sadly the lounge is the B one as I'm flying on 777 not the dedicated 380 hub. It's hard to believe I'm here under my own steam.

But it's still very nice. I have 3 hours to sleep er kill here.

You should have seen the loaded trolley that was pushed into the AA Flagship checkin at ORD in January. The couple had a dozen or so full sized bags... and a dog

Uneventful flights from Dubai and Bangkok though luggage took an age to appear in Mel. Last flight to CBR was gone long before scheduled arrival so one night at Parkroyal then home tomorrow.
Have a few pics from Thai and I must say the red chicken curry was absolutely delish!

That reminds me. I hope Dame Y remembered to clear the room safe

:D
I had an alarm set on my phone in case.
Excellent trip home. Very light flight load for 777 into Adelaide and arrived early.

Cold seems to have sparked up again. It's longest one I can ever remember. Hope yours doesn't return Dame O. Now to unpack. Travel safe to Canberra. You must be sick of planes right about now.

Waiting for flight as we speak! Parkroyal was actually better than I expected based on what others had said so that was ok. Don't remind me about the unpacking!!! That and the washing are the bits I hate about coming home. How's the cat? Oh and of course MrP?

Sorry to hear about your cold/cough. I am fine (touch wood). My flight from Dubai to Bangkok was pretty full in J but the Melb leg was really light and most pax, me included, had a spare seat next to them. Service and food were great but still angled seats and not real wide. Either that or I am fat!

Oh cat is like a limpet. Curled up on me currently with eyes closed and purring. Haven't the heart to move him yet. MrP had wiped down the kitchen which was apparently very necessary. Not much food in the fridge though so a shop on the agenda.

And I read on FB that Noro measures still in place. I reckon they're just limiting food consumption at the buffet. :D. That's now 6 days of it.
