It's a Mercedes Maybach. The only one is Adelaide and just 5 or so in Australia. Usually used for the owners of the business and it is a beauty. Mercedes answer to Bentley. It even has soft close doors.


Lovely way to start.
Airport deserted and the security screeners were very delightful and chatty. No strike. Yay. I'm on my way.

No queues at Qantas and just used the normal checkin area. The premium desk called me over anyway as they were free and I received an explanation of the perks of Platinum.

Now in the QP as the traffic was light and a bit of a wait.

Well, they print these gorgeous tags with your name on it. I got 2 and MrP none. Classic.

MrP has had a black one for around 6 months and loves it. It has endured well - it's on a flight at least twice a week - and it looks very neat and compact. And it seems to work well for me too so far.

Mind you - in December the Singapore cruise line baggage handlers seemed to have dragged my bag through a construction site before returning it so I'm not hopeful.

Flight ADL-Mel uneventful. Late but plenty of time for F lounging. Yes they asked to see my card but said they could have looked up my FF number.
Dame O was momentarily lost until we found each other.

Healthy option on flight was fruits - quite nice. And Grumpy Cat had a seat to himself.





Meals in F were excellent. Duck confit for me and sticky beef for Dame O.

The car was sumptuous and the driver was very happy to tell all the details. He washes it every night.

Emirates lounge now. Very bright and spacious. Pop - a Moet is calling.
