I had some friends come back from Sydney recently. In their carry-on couple had 2 bottles of champagne and the other had 2x 250ml perfume bottles as presents. The only excuse they could come up with was it had been a very good, LONG weekend.
As you will all expect, the liquids were confiscated and lost.
My question is, if you get past immigration and get to security with excess liquids, is there any way of getting back into the terminal, purchasing a small bag and checking the luggage on? I know its not easy, but think of the alcohol.
The other option is to follow the lead of the German who wasnt allowed to take his 1L of duty free vodka on his final domestic leg. He protested by drinking it on the spot. Then he fell over and missed his flight because he was admitted to hospital.
