A tip that might help some of you in selecting CX business class seats...

next time you plonk yourself in your favourite seat at home to relax, have a look at the way your body is angled in the seat... are you slightly angled to the left or right?

You should use that angle to select seats on board... picking the herringbone that is angled in the direction you normally relax.

For the first time ever I found myself sitting on the left side of a CX business class and to be honest - this felt quite strange. Angled to the left is not the way I normally sit, and consequently my 'fit' in the seat was not great... my shoulders were restricted, my knees were bumping into the sides, my elbow on the left restricted (bit like round peg in a square hole)

Swap back to the right of the plane and everything slotted back into place

I know - odd post - but it might be a tip to assist some in getting the maximum comfort out of the flight (and I have noticed some reports where pax have found herringbone seats in general to be restrictive).

I agree, so if this is the first time you use this product better book some legs on each side.... as aside I have found the cold entrée too cold !
cold entrée suppose to be at slightly lower room temperature, around 15 deg, however the ones we had was like 4 deg ! frozen food...

We have just returned from a RTW flying mostly CX J. The middle seats were OK for brief conversations, but needing to lean forward to really hear each other. Travelling as a couple in the window seats you are effectively isolated from one another. One thing in favour of the window seats though is there seems to be a bit more width to the space - particularly the footstool area. This was more noticeable on the B777 than the A330 (due to the wider B777 cabin). We inquired about changing to windows but the available seats were further back over the wings, so stayed with the middle seats.

Family of 4 (2 kids) Flying HKG - JFK in J (77H 777-300ER, F cabin)

First time flying a four class config 777 and wondering if row 12 (in the mini front j cabin) is worth grabbing?

Some mixed reviews mentioning either very quite and private or can be loud due to proximity to galley and toilets....

For a family of four you'd be better 11AD and 12AD or similar on the other side. It's not easy to talk across the divide in the middle two seats... at least not in a way that wouldn't disturb others in the cabin.

I wouldn't worry about mixed reviews... rows 11 and 12 consistently get the highest ratings in that configuration. (I would avoid rows 11 and 12 on other configurations).

i can't remember which seats are for bassinets... Hong Kong will release bassinet seats, in the understanding that if they are needed by pax with infant you could be moved. I never have been.

but it may also be that those seats are outright taken... I don't recall CX blocking seats for status, only for bassinet/special needs.
