Cathay Pacific Delays/Cancellations

Although CX161 was only about 38 late in arriving SYD on the morning of Monday 27 August, B773ER B-KPQ did not take off on the 1015 hours CX162 until 1155 so predicted arrival in HKG is 1901 hours, 71 late.

Thursday 30 August 2018 finds CX110, the 0735 hours morning SYD - HKG (A333 B-LAC) not having taken off until 0907 so arrival is expected at 1637, 77 late.

With Typhoon Mangkhut approaching HKG, CX says it has cancelled all flights from 0230 this morning (Sunday 16 September 2018) to 0400 hours tomorrow (Monday 17) local time. More than 400 have got the flick.

This may however be poorly written, as tonight, CX178, normally the 2340 hours MEL - HKG redeye is operating, but departing two hours late at 0140 on Monday 17.

CX138 (2155 hours tonight ex SYD) is running with no advised change to times. This gets to HKG at 0515 hours on Monday if on time.

CX146, today's 1125 hours BNE - CNS - HKG has been altered to depart BNE at 0800 tomorrow and CNS at 1140 hours.

Today's scheduled CX142 (0705 ex PER) is rescheduled to depart at 0555 tomorrow for HJKG, while strangely what should be the following CX146 (2355 ex PER very late tonight) is supposedly commencing its trip at 0155 hours on Monday morning, super early and ahead of the 142.

Well HKG is in Signal 10 for most of the day meaning just about everything is cancelled or delayed for almost a day.

I think the only flight to land and depart HKG today is SQ1. Definitely balls of steel I think. Smart move that they left HKG early after landing from SFO. Must be a very quick transit and clean up/loading food and luggages.

SQ1 - Singapore Airlines SQ 1 Flight Tracker

CX157 (Saturday 29 September's A359 B-LRF that took off at 1445, two hours after timetabled pushback from HKG bound for BNE) should arrive at 0051 on Sunday 30, 91 late.

Tuesday 13 November's CX104 (A359 B-LRQ) is the 1535 hours MEL up to HKG airborne at 1633, so arrival should be at about 2233 tonight, 48 late. Adverse winds not helping.

CX173, the HKG - ADL of Saturday 17 November 2018 should arrive at 2135 tonight, an hour late. The 2215 hours scheduled departure of return flight CX176 is more likely 2250.

Meanwhile the HKG down to MEL CX163 with B773ER B-KQT is arriving at 2310 hours, 35 late.

Saturday 24 November 2018 sees CX162, the 1055 hours SYD up to HKG that took off at 1154 (B773ER B-HNR) suggested as arriving at 1753 late this afternoon local time, 33 late.

Wed 28th of November sees CX104 MEL-HKG 15 35 service with a tentative departure of 20 10, 275 min tardy.

It looks like A359 B-LRU was delayed overnight as CX104D took off from MEL at 0952 on Thursday 29 November. Hopefully out-of-town passengers received hotel accommodation.

CX105 (A359 B-LRO), the 0005 hours (just after midnight) HKG - MEL on Saturday 1 December that did not take off until 0211 should arrive at about 1342, 87 late. With the returning CX104 not timetabled to depart until 1535, it should still be on time, highlighting how prudent it is for international airlines, where feasible, to allow a greater than minimum time to 'reverse' the aircraft.

CX171 HKG-PER A359 (B-LRM) was 49 minutes late to depart and will arrive in PER at 2331 this evening (51 minutes late)

Ffriday 7 December 2018 sees CX135 from HKG to MEL, Thursday 6's 1910 hours scheduled departure not having taken off until 2237. Arrival looks to be 1008, 158 minutes late. CX134, the day flight back to HKG will be delayed from 0850 to about 1130, so plenty of missed connections in HKG. A359 B-LRU is the aircraft.

UPDATE: As aircraft are arriving in MEL from the south, the estimated arrival for CX135 has blown out to 1028 hours, so it is unlikely that the returning CX134 will be off blocks prior to 1145 hours.

Sunday 9th of Dec sees CX163 HKG-MEL 10 25 depart until 12 16, arrival is suggested about 23 47, 72 tardy (B-KQQ). This is likely to affect departure of CX178 back to HKG, the 1 05 service.

CX170, the 2355 hours very late night PER to HKG (A359 B-LRE) did not become airborne until 0315 hours on Tuesday 11 so arrival is suggested as 1036 hours, 186 late.

Wednesday 12 December 2018 has CX135 from HKG to MEL emerging from a hold southeast of Bendigo at 0753, so arrival is expected at 0814 hours, 44 minutes late. Aircraft is A359 B-LRF.

The HKG to SYD CX161 (B773ER B-KPY) is arriving at 1012 hours, 37 late.

CX111 HKG-SYD (A333 B-LAP) got away an hour late and isn’t expected to arrive until 0815 tomorrow morning (50 minutes late)

On Tuesday 18 December 2018, CX135, the overnight HKG down to MEL is arriving at a very late 1049 hours, 199 minutes behind schedule with A359 B-LRT. This will significantly delay CX134, the 0850 hours MEL - HKG and result in many missed connections to mainland China and elsewhere.
