Thursday 22 June has seen CX104 (A35X B-LXQ), the 1425 hours afternoon MEL-HKG in the sky at 1533. Expected gate arrival is 2243 late tonight, 58 minutes tardy.

For those that are waiting for CX171 to Perth (30/06 HKG Departure) - the flight just departed 1657 HKT instead of 1455 HKT, & should face around 90 mins to 2 hour delay in arriving into Perth because of using the LHR CX256 as the inbound flight to HKG - Plane is B-LXB A35K...

Monday 17 July 2023's CX101, the 2355 hours late night redeye from HKG to SYD (B773ER B-KQL) did not take off until 0104 on Tuesday 18 so arrival should be at 1132 hours, 42 late. Fortunately CX100 back doesn't have a scheduled pushback until 1415 this afternoon, again showing the value of greater than minimum turnarounds at temini.

Cathay Pacific has a pretty good punctuality and reliability record, ahead of Qantas'.

However on Friday 21 July 2023 with SYD again down to using only the east-west runway, CX101 from HKG down to SYD (B773ER B-KPI) is arriving at 1125 hours, 35 minutes late. As CX100 returning isn't scheduled out until 1415 this afternoon, it could well push back on time, although if single runway ops remain, expect it to be delayed in the queue.

On Friday 11 August 2023, CX101 from HKG to SYD (B773ER B-KQK) should arrive at about 1206 hours, 76 behind.

CX138 departing SYD for HKG just now, 17 mins past 1pm curfew. CX139 from HKG arrived 2 hours late at 2205. Quick turn-around though!

These are tentative cancellations and there are other flights impacted! All are related to "Pilot illness" - but a HK aviation blog is saying it has to do with flying hours exceeded for the year!

CX111, the 1910 hours Monday 2 September 2024 HKG to SYD did not take off until 2132 hours, arriving SYD on Tuesday 3 at 0808 hours, 113 minutes late. Accordingly, the return flight CX110 (the 0735 hours) is showing at an amended 0925, optimistic pushback. Aircraft is A359 B-LRK.

Yesterday (02/09/2024) CX 138/9 to SYD was cancelled due to aircraft inspection after emergency landing of another flight to Europe!

Both A359 and A35K. At the moment it looks like cancellations extend until tomorrow, to facilitate remediation work on affected engines.

CX163 (4 September's 1115 hours HKG-MEL airborne at 1201 this afternoon) has B773ER B-KQP with at gate arrival showing as a likely 2245 hours, half an hour tardy.

Both A359 and A35K. At the moment it looks like cancellations extend until tomorrow, to facilitate remediation work on affected engines.

Now it is extended to the weekend - also if travelling to HK - typhoon is here… no major impact as yet but who knows with weather

Friday 13 September 2024 sees CX139, the daylight 0910 hours HKG down to SYD with A359 B-LRV not airborne until 1027 hours. Gate arrival looks to be about 2051 mid evening, 41 late.
