Thanks all, arrivals it is! Yes we're on CX, should have mentioned that. :D

I have a 14hr layover next May. In J on different bookings. Can we visit one of the J lounges for breakfast & shower prior to leaving the airport for the day?
It's possible and worth doing if you have that much time up your sleeve.

Assuming you have onward boarding passes then go through transit security and visit the lounge you want to visit. You will then need to visit an airline desk airside where they endorse your documents giving you permission to leave airport and you exit via the nearest transit security point and then clearing immigration.

It may well be frowned upon but there's nothing wrong doing it this way.

Current menus in the F lounges (as of Monday) -

The salmon was nice but I would not recommend the burger as it was extremely 'greasy'.

It is also a little unfortunate that they park the EK A380 in the bay directly opposite to the Pier F dining room window. A CX aircraft would be more appropriate advertising...

I had the slow roasted chicken in the Pier on Monday and quite liked it.

I think it is a rule that EK park there, because I have never not seen them there.

We are all a little different ... I had the burger a couple of weeks ago and yes, it was slightly greasy but was very nice. I would rate it the best I have had in the last decade.

Agreed.
The burger is a default choice for me when I go there.
The vegetarian risotto is also quite nice too.

I may have to put it down to a bad day for the cook then...

Mrs Lime and self began our professional lounge hopping in HKG years ago and its worked so well, particularly there on many occasions.
