Was good to catch up with everyone last night, thanks for organising CE.
With retail price champagne and cheap (but tasty) pizzas this may well become the AFF meeting place in MEL!

Yes thanks boomy, JT and hughsy - small crowd but very enjoyable evening even though I could not get a word in - I arrived spot on 7pm and hughsy was waiting out front - we did get a head start on you 2:



Amazing wasn't it that we were only patrons in entire hotel taking advantage of the $55 Moet / $10 Pizza specials?

boomy is in town next week again so prelim plans made for nest Tuesday night as steak night at Olive Tree if anybody wanting to join in. 7pm start ATPIT and BYO bottle red - I will start another thread so no confusion.

A bemused footnote to this: flying out of MEL yesterday I noticed the "duty free" store was selling Moet NV for a "mere" $75 (!!!); meanwhile, here in Singapore (aka booze ripoff central), the local supermarket has it for SG$61.95.

Update : I was in this neck of the woods earlier this week, and I noticed that they have increased the price of the bubbly to $60/bl. Presumably our effort here seriously impacted their bottom line for the last FY...
