We have just made some changes that make it easier for you to share your Qantas Points with eligible family members.

You can now transfer between 5,000 and 100,000 Qantas Points up to 4 times every year.

We will send an email to members later today, but wanted you to be among the first to know.

For more information, see this link.

That is wonderful - the restriction was totally painful! Feeling a bit disenchanted with Qantas at the moment, so this is a good change. :)

Really good to see some great news from QF (although I have to admit that I did open the thread with a degree of trepidation. Sort of a Pavlovian response, I guess).:D

This helps a lot thanks.

I've been booking my own flights through a family member's account trying to use up some points earned from shopping.

Just to check my understanding:

Say A has 5,000 and B, C, D each have 4,000.

Can A give 5,000 to B, B give 9,000 to C, C give 13,000 to D, and D give 17,000 to A, enabling it all to be pooled together while using just one of the four transfers each?

While a benefit, I'd suggest only for a small % of people hence the cost to QF low. This change is of zero beneift to me.

What about a proper beneift like the charges QF slugs frequent flyers for redemming their points on actual flights. That would be something to praise.

Why wouldn't you just have B, C and D give to A, using only one transfer per each of B, C and D and no transfers of A?

Aside from that, the four times per year simply matches Velocity.

Well then, let me change my statement:

About bl**dy time!

P.S. yes I was aware of the VFF rule...
