Change to Spa treatments in F lounge

I would be pretty annoyed if I thought that any of those appointment slots were filled by WP's and non-status guests flying purely domestically between SYD and MEL whilst I'm on a long haul to LHR or LAX.

Don't think that and you won't be annoyed. ;)

I thought as much ... that you would avoid my first question in having no evidence whatsoever about JQi dom pax in the F lounge. Not your fault in not having the proof though - it's not like you manage the lounge and have access to pax details.
It would be frustrating to have nothing to support an emotionally fabricated and arguably less probable idea.

I obviously have no numbers either, but I believe one is one too many when we're talking about purely domestic passengers. It's a loophole that could be very easily closed.

Another group of 20 or so people flew on the Dreamliner last month T1 SYD to MEL.

No emotions, no fabrication.

Well you call it a loophole, I like many others don't. ..this hss been around since at least 2008 when the F lounges in Syd and Mel were upgraded so I'm sure QF know about it and I'm sure they get feedback with the actual numbers from rhe QF F lounge. As long as it is not abused, I don't have a problem with it. Anyway, I suspect it will be "enhanced" at some point with another QF Plat benefit lost:(

Edit to add: I would consider the above large gatherings as an abuse of the privilege.

Yes or no - do you have any proof that there were any JQi dom pax using the F lounge spa during the exact time when you missed out on your appointments?

There is emotion because you missed out. The idea is what is fabricated. All ideas are fabricated. Just like the idea, "I missed out on the spa because of JQi dom pax taking my spot"... or "I have no proof that JQi dom pax were present at the time of my visit but I'll automatically assume they were because I know of other occasions on other days when there were some of those pax".

You've avoided the question more than once now. If the truth (or lack thereof) frightens you, then substitute it for another topic and debate that instead ;)

I never said I had proof that JQ passengers had appointments when I missed out.

I know, I never said that you said it. I'm not implying that you are accusing me, either.
I merely asked you - several times, to which you have made the choice to avoid it. Quote the whole post but run away from the content.
I could ask you why you choose not to answer, but you might get scared of answering that too

It is an important component to this topic that you brought up, but it appears you are not wanting to discuss this logically because you are bringing up unrelated points and choosing to debate them instead.
You should get all the sympathy you can get as an F pax who doesn't get a spa booking, but that itself isn't the point of the last couple of pages.

Sigh.

What's the question that you would like me to answer?

When I fly F, I tend to plan my lounge visit in advance (and take full advantage of the pre-booking).

When I fly a class other than F (or a partner airline) and use my status for access I immediately go to the spa to see if there are any appointments available. More often than not, I am told there is nothing left, or nothing which I could fit in given my flight time.

You don't need a PhD in economics or mathematics to work out that there is high demand and limited supply (max ~6 per hour in SYD, and max ~4 per hour in MEL).

RE: Jetstar

I freely admit that I have enjoyed accessing the F lounge on several occasions as a JQi domestic tag passenger. However I agree with Princess Fiona and others that these passengers, especially in large groups, do contribute to "crowding" in the lounge.

FYI - I have never successfully arranged a spa treatment as a JQi domestic tag passenger

I have also accessed the F lounge on paid business class tickets (on QF) as a "top-tier" flier having just spent ~$10k on a last minute seat and get told there are no more spa appointments, and a 20 min wait for a table in the restaurant. I know that I have to sleep on the eintire flight as I am getting a cab to the office as soon as we land...

Those days really suck, but it works in swings and roundabouts - I have also had some excellent meals and spa treatments on holidays when I have got a "good deal" or am using an award seat.

Talking about 'loopholes' as you are sounds like Lesley et al talking about the use of MASAs, etc to achieve status, or the use of anytime access in lounges a couple of years ago... it ticks me off!

People are/have been availing themselves of benefits freely offered by QF.

If there are "unintended consequences" by allowing WPs travelling JQi flights into the Flounge I'm sure QF will adjust the QFF program, making it even "fairer" and "simpler".:evil::evil:

As a Silver QFF I slum it in Y and can only dream of free spa treatments let alone gaining access to the F lounge but on the plus side I have more $$$$$$ to spend when I get to my destination and luxury accommodation.

I absolutely agree with you GirlCarlton! :D

If you read enough threads and stay with it all on here for a while, you will see that very few people are actually paying full price or anything very much for these F flights, lounge visits, hotel etc. Be patient, all will be revealed. :)

I don't mind at all. I might never get to the F lounge but with the QFF Program going the way it is what you never had you will not miss ;)
