Changes to QF lounges in Singapore

Re: SIN lounge new first and business? P1 and WP access (temporarily?) different?

I find it interesting that QF has done this. It is not as if moving, what I assume, is a handful of pax to the EK lounge will significantly reduce overcrowding in the BA/QF lounge. I can't believe there are loads of CL's and P1's, even with the great double SC giveaways, and the number of F pax is relatively limited. (I wonder what BA is doing with their F pax?)

That said I have to say the EK lounge is a calm oasis after suffering the crowded QF/BA SIN lounges over the last couple of years.

It's temporary. Really nothing to read into it. However, also note that platinums are using the business lounge and gold and QC have been removed to other lounges. So they haven't just removed the CL and WP1s to alternative lounges.

I may have misunderstood the previous temporary arrangements. I'm not sure why but I was under the impression that CL/WP pax plus J and F pax used the old J lounge, whilst SG and QP pax used the old F lounge.

As it stands now WP's continue to use the old J lounge, the old F lounge is closed and SG's and J pax use a different lounge and QP members use a different lounge again.

So, I wrongly assumed that QF had only removed CL/P1 and F pax from the old J lounge. That is why I thought it a little odd because I can't believe those numbers were particularly big and wouldn't make a huge difference. Surely removing P1's would have virtually no impact at all? The old J lounge is now WP's only.

There is hardly anyone in the EK lounge, but I assume some of those entitled to use it have continued with the old lounge or simply don't bother to use a lounge.

That was consistent with the arrangements in place before the EK hookup was announced.

I think it is the new arrangements I have misunderstood. Despite reading the new arrangements it simply had not sunk in that J pax were being removed from the old J lounge. I still don't get why QF decided to remove P1's, it makes no sense at all. There can only be a handful surely?

Maybe to give them a taste of something better? Yeah that very much sounds like the previous temporary arrangements, which were strange anyway.
