We were all sweating by the end and he was slipping on the wet floor!
So hot here my phone just gave me a warning message it has to cool down.

Wow that must be hot! Keep cool with a nice long drink! I think it was a couple of months later that we were in the Med last time and it was not nearly as hot as you have had. I tend to wilt.

Malta was stunningly beautiful. There are awful spots and amazing places. Our 2 hour hoho bus lasted 3.5 - just as well we didnt know that at the beginning. It was searingly hot but so worth it. Malta was occupied by the Brits until 1964 and so they drive on the correct side of the road. Lots of development happening here. Not great beaches though so they build pools.

The guy in front of us in the bus said we should take the lift up from the port into the city. And it was fabulous.






And on top of the lift they were playing an English hymn - I cant remember the name but I think it is also a soccer team anthem and it was very moving.

This Greek frigate undertakes patrols in the lower Med for refugee craft. We sailed very close to the Nth African Coast/Tunis last night.

We didnt eat in Malta.
Last year a friend and her husband spent a week in Malta last year at a work conference. A couple of days later as he wasnt well he went to his Dr. He was immediately admitted to intensive care and he died two days later of a bacterial infection. As we went on the bus some of the produce areas stank. I wonder if they use untreated sewage as fertiliser here.

I remember Valetta as a lovely port. We liked the place very much though I recall lots of litter and vacant blocks full of rubbish. My brother and SIL have been a few times and have an apartment. Luckily they seem to have had no food poisoning problems.
Did you visit St Johns Co-cathedral? The Caravaggio is lovely.

Back to Malta.We had a very good friend who when in Malta got very ill.Got rapidly evacuated to London and was diagnosed as an encephalitis presumably viral.Left him with lots of problems but especially no balance.He and his wife also loved travel but that was the end of their travelling days.He died this year roughly 10 years after that episode.
Always wanted to visit Malta but guess it will have to be on a cruise.
