Chasing the perfect Fuji shot

Surprisingly though only our grandson had a pizza -hawaian. they hide the pineapple!

Our 2 granddaughters had spaghetti and meatballs.

Mrsdrron had the Carbonara.
IMG_9434.jpg

And I had The El diablo pizza which i forgot to picture. i did remember my beer though.

Mrsdrron is now the shortest in the family. our 15 year old grandson is a couple of inches taller than me and our granddaughter at 16 is the same height as I am.

Sunday night and a family dinner at home.
We had to leave early in the morning to get our car back on time plus get the earlier flight to MCY.

Dropping the car back at Alamo there was a nice double rainbow.

A bit of a shambles at checkin with an older woman walking to the front of the premium queue and told that this line was for premium passengers so she took a step back, the agent turned around so the woman went to the other agent and was checked in. Then didn't know where her bag was -her husband had it. She was still there when we walked off to security. had the scanner so no problems.
Up to the J lounge. We were flying J. Only excitement was Hamish Blake was sitting in the row in front of us and people kept coming up and wanted a photo with him. He has the patience of Job.
Nothing much to eat so basically just a coffee. Went to the gate early as I was moving quite slowly. I had figured out walking with my head down caused less pain. I scored a few funny looks. Stood in the J line as I knew I couldn't quickly get there when boarding actually started. Then a young woman walked behind the service desk and came and stood in front of us. She was talking to a gate agent so I presumed she was staff. certainly schooled in the QF fashion by not caring about actual passengers. When she did this there were more than 20 others behind us. Mrsdrron was second off and saw her head to Y.
We were again in 1A,C.

My view.

And off we went.

When we reached the runway it was straight on and straight off. Although cloudy it was fairly clear.

It was the day a man went overboard off the Pacific Adventurer. We were in the air a little after his body was found. The ship appeared to be heading towards Sydney Harbour.

Several boats were heading into Sydney Harbour.

I guess it was brunch. I had a quiche with a Danish and Mrsdrron a salad.

Then cloud which cleared over Northern NSW.

And that is all. But don't worry. 3weeks from today we set off on our next adventure. A couple of days in Sydney, 3 nights in Darwin before embarking on our SQ award flights.
DRW - SIN -NRT x HND-SIN - BNE.
3 nights in Tokyo then 4 weeks driving around Hokkaido.

Thanks for chasing the perfect Fuji shot for us @drron
Hope your pesky leg pain is settling and you can enjoy your next trip, looking forward to that report.

Side note, I used to love the QF dash 8 short hop flying low from Brissie up to Sunny Coast.

Back in the 90s we used to fly MCY-BNE on Sunstate airlines on a Nomad. When they got rebranded to Qantas Link and had the Dash 8s it wasn't too long before the service disappeared.
As to my leg when I got home I increased my dosage of Amitriptyline to 50mg at night and the pain is finally settling. In the first week the steps per day were about 1000 but for the last week getting up to 6000 with only a little bit of pain so confident I can still enjoy our Hokkaido trip.
