Cheap Duty Free Liquor Airports - the JW Black Index

At TPE today
JW Black 1L NT$760 = A$28.35
JW Blue 1L NT$5970 = A$222.70

You have got to wonder about JW's pricing policy, my boys gave me a bottle of JW Blue for fathers day cost at Dan's - $155 for 700 mil = $221 for a litre but a great price on a 700 mil bottle of JW Black at Dan's would be just under $40 =$57 per litre.

So at $28 1 litre JW Black is a great buy in TPE!

For $220 I would be sticking to the Single Malts.

At ICN they had a great deal of 66 USD for 2 double black + 200ml spice road.

2 * spice road was just 60 USD

if you're in TPE i suggest going to the carefour. I was able to get 3 * 12 yr old famous grosse for about $65 AUD

This is also true. The price difference between the airport and supermarkets in town seems to be negligible at times, and often better if the store has a sale. Carrefour doesn't always have 1L bottles of everything though (so you'd just need to buy 3x700). This is also a good option if you're not flying direct to BNE/SYD, as having it in your checked baggage means you won't lose it at a transit point.

May not be completely related, but are liqueurs like Kahlua and Baileys much cheaper duty free in some Asian ports?
Just had a look and DMs has Kahlua 700mL at $24.95 and Baileys 700mL at $22.95 - when were they ever that cheap??

I was just in MNL and purchased JW Gold 750ML for AU$41 from the Rustans dept store - thought that was pretty good. JW Double Black seems to have gone up across the board - pricing strategy I guess?

JW gold Reserve, not JW gold I presume?

Forgot about this thread - been doing photoshoots airside at Suvarnabhumi for the past few months for DF companies, so get to see the prices quite regularly.

I do know they have a deal on Martell at the moment - celebrating 300 years; 1L Cordonbleu & XO Miniature was about 8500THB/AUD320. I'm not a Cognac drinker, so don't know if that's a good buy or not.

Usually shoot twice a month, next time I'll take some notes.

Am heading to Suvarnabhumi tonight for photoshoot; already organised to have a look at some whiskey whilst I'm there, after the shoot.

Happy to update anyone who has a request - PM me with your favourite.

No JW in this quick price check, but did do a quick survey of the whiter spirits across KUL, SIN and SYD.

KUL is the big winner on this quick survey.
Don't mind the new Star of Bombay - Bombay Sapphire Distillery - Laverstoke Mill

JW Black 1 litre ISK4922 (~AU58) duty free at KEF in Iceland.

700ml was ISK6999 (~AU83) in the only high street store in Reykjavik to sell spirits.

Johnnie Walker Black Duty Free

I seem to remember a forum long ago that compared the price of Johnnie Walker Black at different airports. But now I can't find it.

Specifically I need to decide - do I buy several bottles of JW Black at Sydney, BKK or HKT?

Many thanks.

Re: Johnnie Walker Black Duty Free

That's the one. Many thanks. It looks like BKK for me.
