Cheaper Jetstar flights through .jp

i literally just booked MCY>MEL return for $144 - Jetstar's website was $460... shame about the $15 credit card fee but still miles ahead!!!

Is this no longer working? Prices appear to be the same as Jetstar website now.

Doesn't seem to be working anymore from a few searches I just did :(

If they have "aligned" all JQ Japan, JQ Australia and JQ International fares on the .jp web site to the same level as the fares on the .au website then I can see a bit of "sticker shock" coming up and possibly a drop off in bookings? Remember the Yen may have also depreciated a bit against other currencies so possibly the JQ Japan operation may be feeling a bit of a squeeze with fuel prices and lease repayments? (depending on if lease repayments are in Yen or US$)

May explain the recent shunting of funds from the parent company Qantas to Jetstar Japan as provided the Jetstar Japan operation is sustainable, would be a pretty smart time to move some money out of Australia and into Japan.....

Odd you mention.
I just tried Scoot(.au) and the same flights originating in Singapore and it was about 40% cheaper. Advantage Singapore Citizens.
Scoot were annoyingly close enough to regular fares that I am now flying Emirates. Now I know why under $300 JQ tickets are non-existant - gotta speak .jp.

I checked for Christmas and flights are cheaper again, but marginally - at least in the circumstance below.

Comparing today 25 December Brisbane-Sydney first flight of the morning (which may be required for some families like mine) - Jetstar AU $85 (no fees if poli / bank deposit or $93.50 by CC) - Expedia JP - Y6500 ($69.02) including CC fees and Expedia fees.

Christmas Day rates have come down on Jestar.com.au since last weekend when I booked, but I still saved over $150 for 25/12 (first flight down) to Sunday 28/12 (evening flights back) for 2.
