Is there a way to check availability for the Accor Plus Stay Plus (free night) while currently holding a reservation for the same? It seems to disqualify you from searching for potential better options before it's used.

Pretty sure StayPlus is capped.

Not in my experience. I just used mine in Tokyo and got $420 value so more than annual fee. I refuse to use the free night it is doesn't at least cover the annual fee - otherwise the meagre dining benefits are not worth it to me.

Best usage I got was at Sofitel Fiji ($650) but have never been able to get that property since.

There are plenty of properties that require a 2 or 3 night stay to be able to use the Stay Plus night but I too have tried looked several times before for the Sofitel Fiji and have had no luck.
Funnily enough I chose a random date just then and this came up

Does anyone know if there's free night availability for Shanghai, China at all?
From the T&C’s

  • The Stay Plus benefit is not applicable at participating Banyan Tree, Angsana and Cassia properties across Asia Pacific or any participating Accor hotels and resorts in Mainland China.

I think the same considerations as reward flights apply when valuing a 'free' hotel stay.

If the Accor hotel is asking $700 for that night are you really getting $700 value if a similar quality hotel next door is only asking $350.

I've always used my free night in conjunction with 1-2 paid nights, never had to pay any top up I only use at a property I wanted to stay at anyway I.e have already decided the property best suits my need on the city/area.

For value I compare the Accor plus rate for a paid stay against paid+free night. If the difference is > than Accor plus membership then it's ok to redeem.

Ymmv, but top ups only usually apply to suites and I tend to book rooms not suites.

This Hotel has a total cost of $560 for those 4 nights - an average cost of $140 per night - this would (in my opinion) be a poor use of the free night.

That said - there is no availability for any of those nights for Stay Plus.

And...sorry @camcam my Stay Plus expires in Feb so cannot look beyond that.

Thanks much appreciated.

There's an additional 20% tax on top and was more looking at the refundable prices which is abit higher. There is also a deal on the accor plus right now.

Was looking to see if its worth purchasing for this hotel stay. But looks like there's no availability anyways.
