China - never a dull moment!

CRH train Beijing to WuQing - only 10 mins away - WuQing is home of famous WuQiong Florentia Village Outlet Mall - however I was heading to a factory instead:

This is only a 20min journey so train does not hit top speed 300kmh:

No Business on that train so you had to slum it back in First, Cruiser? Oh the horror...(well it is Halloween tomorrow). ;)

I have seen this photo before... I am sure if we dig deep enough the same photo is on another thread.... (that's not the reason for my reply) ....however I find that humourous that they have an outlet store. Have you ever checked out the Shopping Mall? Is it all high end gear or just a name to sucker in American tourists...:)

Post #116 also has info on the shopping mall.

I am glad I am not going crazy... I won't show this to our girls because the next time we are in Beijing I am sure they will want to check it out...

Picked up our visas yesterday and they now want a copy of our flight details (which they keep) and our accommodation. First time I had to do that.

Have fun tonight...

Lesson No 1. when you are in China - prior to leaving your hotel room each day you must first locate the spare toilet roll in your room:

Then tuck it into your luggage or bag that you are taking that day - you WILL need it.

This was the earliest train I get out of PEK today in Business - fastest trains take 3hr 46mins to NKG - but oh well - that's life. FTR - tix cost RMB1404 (AUD261.84) for the journey - some mre pics - tray table and TV screen deployed - shame all content Chinese:

So I just checked into InterContinental NKG - the fockers will still not give me Lounge access unless I pay extra - but they did upgrade me to a suite - seriously these pics just do not do it justice - it is HUGE - funny thing is I get upgraded to one of these most visits - but no lounge access.

I will compare this to my $84 per night Sofitel Galaxy in NKG and report back. I am sure it will be chalk and cheese...:)

Such a stunning suite - just wish I could photograph it better - did I mention I am pissed off with these IC jerks for not granting me Lounge access?

Just another average AFF get together / drinkies session in NKG last night - you guys know how it goes - you meet / you drink / you eat / you drink some more / you make merry right?

Then late at night or early morning you head to HQ for some extra sustenance?

Resize of IMG_2175.JPG

But seems my drinking buddies ran out of puff - this is the last I saw of TheEmu for the night:

And this was my Chinese trading partner Ye Ming:

Imagine that - Banks that actually provide service to customers - what a novel idea!

Just a couple more pics of the CRH Fast Trains - firstly a pic I forgot to post earlier show rear sides seat pods in Business Car:

Resize of IMG_2212.JPG

And they serve you lunch:

Resize of IMG_2201.JPG

This was the beef offering and the wateriest of watery chicken soup - closer inspection beef and rice:

Resize of IMG_2205.JPG

Always a safe bet to buy a ready made sandwich prior to boarding as many times what id offered is basically inedible IMHO:

Resize of IMG_2207.JPG

And to the scuffs offered on board - ladies see the shoe bag - can never have too many show bags for travelling right?

Resize of IMG_2211.JPG

So one pack is stuffed into magazine pouch rear each seat pod - when car half full as it was on Sat quick whip around and I souvenired 8 packs not used - can never have too many shoe bags when travelling hay girls:

Here are a few pics of the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel (RBCH) which I always stay in PEK - this is my favourite / regular room - Rm 1234 - no matter how plastered you going to be when return to hotel you aint gonna forget that room number! Hope pics OK:
