And my window seat:

What's that you ask? My actual seat number - oh ok - as much as I didn't want to post it - here goes:

BEST seat in cabin too - my 'go to' seat selection!

And here I was thinking it was a photo of 1K
All seats on CRH trains rotate 180deg - trains don't turn all seats to - heading one way row 1 closest to front - return journey row 1 is rear row - it's actually a brilliant system - this is all seats on train- Business Class I have shown- First and Second Class also.

Up in Harbin, at the moment I can use the mail app on my iPhone to access my Gmail accounts. All the other regularly blocked websites are still down however.

Seems like its all over the place - I was up in Harbin late July early August and I couldn't receive Gmail on my Android phone ... didn't check the wifes iPhone, just assumed it didn't work either (but maybe it did!!).

It really is hard to go past J on the high speed train.

So how do you fit a totally oversized carton into the boot of your car? Easy:

And be then you tear down the road at 120kmh to get home before it falls off on the way home.

Gives a new meaning to a Mobile Laundry service.

He'll cook your dinner while you wait, too: there's a microwave between his legs.
All done to his selection of tunes: I could hear the radio that's slung over the front from inside the coach I was on (sealed windows...)

Whenever I think of the term 'Bridal Wear' my mind instantly registers Beijing South Train Station as the logical place to start shopping!

A common problem. Only sure way is to sort out a VPN before one arrives.

Even with VPNs I often have difficulties with access being blocked or throttled. Astrill VPN on the iPhone has been useless for several months. It is a ridiculous and frustrating situation, particularly for business as Skype and Facetime calls are also frequently affected to the point of being unusable. The interference now is the worst I have experienced over the last 2-3 years.

True. My HMA VPN isn't brilliant for the iPhone either. Apart from the frustration in trying to log on, the VPN also drains the battery pretty hard. I usually just wait until I get home if I need e-mail, facebook, et al.

Haven't noticed any problems with facetime or Skype when I've used them sans VPN however.

Well, the internet needs to be '... purified ...' before all other visible pollution.

That was the exact term used 'purify the internet' !

Things go to a plan .... designed for thought control, not for your convenience.

Were you using a VPN? 3 carriers in China - China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom - Facebook blocked on all carriers - List of blocked sites in China

Actually I had a friend visiting me in China recently and they also had unrestricted access when roaming. They were roaming on China Mobile using a Taiwanese SIM (arranged through Far-east Tone in Taiwan). Facebook, instagram, google etc all no problem on 3G/4G here in Guangzhou. I was not aware that this was possible but maybe there is some kind of agreement in place with certain overseas carriers to provide unrestricted internet when roaming in China.
