Bus, ferry or train... but train is the way to go. Take the Airport Express train into Kowloon Station. There was a (free) shuttle bus to Hong Kong West Kowloon High Speed Train station - check if that's still the case. Also work out where you want to go in Guangzhou/Forshan as there are several stations - GungzhouNan (South) & GuangzhouDong (East) for high speed trains.

Bullet Train is the best choice—it's easy, fast, and cheap. But since the first three days in May are the P.H., you will have no chance to get a ticket.Hi China Experts.
looking at options for a work trip to China for myself and one of my staff..
thinking April/May 2025
we need to visit 3 suppliers
prolly 2 full business days at each + a travel day in between each one
order not important but what will work for travel most efficiently
1. Minhang District, Shanghai
2. Kaifeng, Henan
3. Longwan, Wenzhou
thinking of flying SQ to Shanghai and return from there too, but am open
all ideas welcome
Interesting you say that… we were looking at bullet train fares Beijing to Shanghai and they were quite expensive… over $100 for 2nd class and over $200 for 1st.Bullet Train is the best choice—it's easy, fast, and cheap. Please consider the time you go and leave the airport as well as the waiting time. I will pick the train. Also, delays in China are quite common, as China's airspace control means there are only a few civil aviation flight routes.Interesting you say that… we were looking at bullet train fares Beijing to Shanghai and they were quite expensive… over $100 for 2nd class and over $200 for 1st.
I was surprised at how expensive the train was. Business class was in a league of its own - price wise - on the train, double again.
It was cheaper to fly on China Eastern than take the train!
3 to Shenzhen has 9 daily fast train services, costing you AUD90 for 7 hours. Flight only 2 hours and around AUD 120-300. I think you should use air.Thanks. Decided March now.
1 to 2 will be train.
2 to 3 will be flight
3 to Shenzhen still not researched
That is true! I had forgotten about flight delays! Please consider the time you go and leave the airport as well as the waiting time. I will pick the train. Also, delays in China are quite common, as China's airspace control means there are only a few civil aviation flight routes.
even with that price, you still possibly see all the tickets sold out within minutes in some period! ^_^That is true! I had forgotten about flight delays!
We will most likely take the train, it was just surprising how expensive it was compared to flying.
It's basically on a flat per km fee, whereas airlines can be a little more dynamic.was just surprising how expensive it was compared to flying.
Thanks… yes. We’re going first. 5 abreast doesn’t really excite! It's basically on a flat per km fee, whereas airlines can be a little more dynamic.
Ideally I'd always book 1st class (if not Business on the G trains) as the 2nd class cars can get a lot of standing pax on some routes.
Trip.com is probably slightly easier to book on versus the official 12306.cn website or app.
