Honestly if you are at the petrol station anyway why bother with 1L... just top it up, then it isn't a waste of a stop. Same with Velocity shop, Autobarn, etc. I'd rather buy something I need rather than something for $1 I'll throw away.

If you just want to buy something to throw it away, I'm sure you can find something for $1 as a walk-in. Some bulk clamps or something that isn't on the website.

I think they usually sell bottled water, soft drinks, etc which might be a better option if you'd actually use them.

I'd think no. This is because I'd expect points are only credited after the booking has passed, not just when you book. This is because you can cancel, and in line with the timing of other bookings.

I'd expect that points will be awarded based on transfers that have occurred for events during that period, not afterwards.
