Has everyone got their Christmas day drinking lineup sorted? Love to hear some of the drops people are planning to consume.

With a forecast 40 degrees in Adelaide I think there will be more fizz and white wine being consumed than red. My contribution to lunch will be

1999 Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque
1999 Pol Roger Brut Vintage
2004 Two Hands Lily's Garden Shiraz

Just need to find a suitable white now.

Probably an '09 Ashton Hills Sparkling Shiraz and a NV Mumm, along with some Alicante Bouchet here and there.

Was sorted until the 40 degree's hit - tough going for any decent reds in that temp in Adelaide

So far am thinking:

Leasingham 06 Classic Clare Sparkling Shiraz
Patrick Puize Vendages Chablis 15
Veuve Clicqout
Lucy Margaux 16 Sauv
Golden Child Lazy Sunday Shiraz Pinot (Can be chilled)

But may just smash some Melbourne Bitter Tinnies !

As usual my father-in-law will be providing the main firepower, but I will be adding:

2006 Grant Burge Shadrach

2007 Majella Shiraz Sparkling

2005 Shirvington Shiraz

2006 Oliverhill Winery Shiraz Jimmy Section (Magnum)

A lovely 27 degrees predicted in Coffs, so should be fine for the reds :)

Nice line up, I will be on the West End red tins over the MB's though.

Kohen, can I ask how you rate this? I've seen a bottle around for $30 - worth it for that?

I'll be pulling out some Pommery Rose NV and some de Bortoli Noble One for dessert. Hoping Dad digs down past the Torbreck Woodcutters & Struie, and on to a bottle of Descendent :)

I got for $25 and am happy at that price, have taken to drinking it in a standard wine glass rather than a flute, seems to soften it a bit - more to my liking, i find it more gluggable than Rockfords BP or Ashton Hills, possibly due to being aged

What's on the table Christmas Day?

What's going to be served with your Christmas lunch (and maybe into the afternoon ...)? This will be on offer for my lot:

Regrettably I am not in charge of the whites!

Re: What's on the table Christmas Day?

Work serves a very good dinner on Christmas day and I've made arrangements to meet a friend before work to enjoy our dinner.

All of the usual foods are served including meat, seafood and pudding with custard.

I start at 8pm so a good time to have a prework dinner.

I have Squealing Pig Sav Blanc, Giant Steps Pinot (maybe a bit warm) and for the amber delight I will be drinking (very easily) James Boag's 150 Lashes.

Very Merry Christmas to all.

Dave

I'll be drinking Brown Bros Crouchen Riesling. Not as exciting as what others are drinking, but on what will be a stinker of a day, it will go down nicely.

I have no idea…

A decent drop will be wasted on the masses in the noisy banality of a crowded family Christmas day.
Otoh..I could take along something passable and quietly quaff away.

SwmbO will offer , or not offer, to drive tomorrow ….before we load up the esky.

If I am driving it will be six pack of light beer for me… :-)

I'm flying to ARM today so just threw this into my backpack, a little something to have on my own tonight
