I was kinda hoping that they would figure that this is a bad idea and that they'd be slaughtered on SMS costs, but alas.
I dont know how the SMS messages are actually sent however I would think that they would just be using a service with an unlimited number of SMS messages
For example $40 month with optus https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephones/SimBYO or $60 with Telstra Telstra - Mobile Phones - No Lock-In Plans
Damn.
Anyway, still no love from Yodlee... I can't add my account back after I deleted it to stop receiving bloody SMS messages from Citi every day. It still asks for the security questions.
Just leave them blank. Then it will ask for additional challenge information and you enter your OTP. To update Citibank accounts in future you have to do it manually and then that will allow you to enter the OTP.
Problem Updating Account We're sorry, there was a technical problem updating your account. This kind of error is usually resolved in a few days. Please try again later.
That's unfortunate. It works for me :SThanks. I just tried that, but no dice. It spends ages "gathering your data" and then throws this error:
Which is pretty much the same message as I was getting when I tried with the security questions a few weeks ago.
OK guys so we are several weeks into OTP life - how are users finding it?
TBH I find the OTP generation via the App to be perfect – your thoughts?
No problem whatsoever. Better than HSBC asking me to get a code from a machine.

Well, I'm not using the app but I've gone from hating OTP to liking it, but that's only because I have the token now with the ability to fallback to SMS. I like the way the SMS is a broadcast, rather than a saved SMS, too - less clutter!
Great.
Try to change the mobile number and you get locked out of your online banking for 5 business days. Fortunately I don't have anything critical to do in that account.
Change to Offline OTP, I find it is so much more reliable than the SMS which I hardly ever receive in time (especially when overseas)
