Thanks for the tip! Shame it's only for new Citibank customers.
Any fee-free for life cardholders applied for this card?
Not sure whether applying for this plat card will affect the free visa card?
It does not say you need to be a new customer
Guys
Just thought id let you all know that the 60k points CANNOT be converted to Qantas Frequent Flyers or any other type of airline rewards points.
I just got off the phone with Citibank and they confirmed this. There goes my chance of getting a business class one way to Bangkok (60k points) for the cost a $250 annual fee!

Let see if they issue me with a card or not don’t care any more :-|
For the regular 60k deal that's true, but to get the half price annual fee, if you go to the site posted, the first paragraph of the conditions has:
Citibank Credit Cardholders are not eligible to apply for this introductory offer.
Tried to apply today, under the reward program there's no "Qantas" option, just the citirewards. Does anyone have the same issue?
I can confirm you can earn QFF points, but you must be careful how you do it.
Firstly, posters who note there is no option for QFF direct earn during the application process are correct; you do not choose QFF direct earn during the application, but only after you have received your card, but before you spend on it.
Make sure you:The Mrs now has a nice 70k points to transfer to me, which will mean on the trip next year we'll be sitting in J and the rug rats will be in Y.
- Do not use your card before you have opted in.
- Opt in to the QFF program before you spend on it.
- Activate your card.
- On a separate phone call (so the nice Citibank person doesn't get confused), opt into the QFF rewards program. Agree to pay the $49.
- Once you have your pin, before you spend on your card, set up online access, go online, and check if you're opted in.
- Click on the rewards option on the right.
- Click on the Browse through Citi Rewards
- You should see that you're in the QFF program. If not, ring up and get it fixed.
- Once you're certain you're in the program, spend on your card!
- You won't see the points until your first statement - where it will show your spend points (you don't get points for the annual fee, additional cardholder fee, etc), as well as 60,000 bonus points, all listed as QFF points.

Good work! And thanks for confirming
Did you call Citi before you went through all this, to make sure it would be applied
Thanks for the info. I was wondering however... you said 'Dont spend' what about balance tranfers? Does that count as a spend? I'm not enrolling in QFF but moving points to KF.
Hi Anyone here have received their 60k QFF points?
still undecided whether i should or not
i called they said it can not be converted to QFF but some here said you can...
im confused!!
We have now called Citibank for the 4th time in 24 hours and requested to talk with a supervisor to confirm that indeed it was the case. She asked us to send the add in which the advertisement was made and told us she will call to confirm. Several hours later she did call and confirm that indeed 60,000 points will be credited to the QFF account once a purchase was made within the date limits. We will keep the group posted on whether or not this happens.
