Citibank Plus - No Fee No Overseas Transaction Fee Account

Thanks guys, will definitely look into it when I move to Canada in 2015.

That is surely wrong (no surprises that a Citi CSA might not really know the truth). I'm pretty sure the card has no forex fees for purchases or cash withdrawals.

That was my first thought and so i confirmed it back with her that I wouldn't be charged any fees for withdrawals but would for purchase and she said yes. Like you say who knows if that's just Citi CSA.... I might have to test it myself and see what shows up.... if there is a 2.5% charge then I may as well use my Citibank Sig and get 4PPD.

I just called Citi to get them to note on my Citibank Plus debit card that I'm heading overseas and they warned me that using the CitibankPlus Debit card for CC purchases will incur a 2.5% fee but using it at an ATM to withdraw cash won't... the 2nd part I know as it's why we all have this account... but I was surprised to learn about the first part - do they really charge 2.5% transaction fee if I use it to for purchases overseas? If so that answers my original question about why have the 29deg as well?

Based on their PDF the CSA was wrong...

I have been look at one of these, and their site doesn't seem say much about spot rate, overseas withdrawals. Have the T&Cs changed?

Nothing has changed. There are no fees on this account type/ debit card at all. Used it in Singapore last week for ATM and CC purchases.

Also free international transfers rocks as well!

Re: Citibank Everyday Plus - Free overseas ATM withdrawals!

I'm having no luck finding an ATM in coughet that doesn't charge THB150 (~AUD5) for each withdrawel.

I received an email an hour ago from Citibank and from a quick look, from what I understand, there is going to be a 2.5% transaction fee for all overseas ATM withdrawals from the beginning of March. Am I reading this correctly? Is our precious cards no longer free of fees? /sob

You can stop crying, page 24 specifically says it's excluded from the fee.

But doing a direct deposit to an account with a different bank in Australia gets a $10 fee? They cannot be serious...I guess I'll just send everyone cheques again!
