Possibly a special case (given he has a 'relationship manager'). The rewards program is still fee free (and actually it is for all cards!), its just if you want QFF points instead of what the Rewards program offers then you need to pony up.
Hey guys new to this site, but find it very informative.
Can someone help me with the following?
Can you transfer Citi rewards points (platinum) to SPG? or Hilton?
...(omitted)
tell me your thoughts boys!
I received a booklet today explaining the differences between Citibank Rewards and Citi Qantas Rewards Program but nowhere does it say there is a $19 annual fee if I choose the Citi Qantas Rewards Program option![]()
After speaking with a CSR at Citibank yesterday, she told me that all cardholders would soon be receiving a mailout regarding the stoppage of points transfer to QFF after 31 March 2009.
Interestingly enough, she said that Citibank would be allowing transfer of points less than the current 10,000 point minimum to be transferred to QFF.
I currently have less than 5000 points, so it will work well for me!
A call to Citibank resulted in an offer to upgrade to the platinum card, but the normal annual fee of $250 would apply; they were not able to offer me the fee free platinum card, at this time.
"Interestingly enough, she said that Citibank would be allowing transfer of points less than the current 10,000 point minimum to be transferred to QFF."
I contacted Citibank about the same issue (i have 7000 points) and was told sorry but unless you have 10,000 points you wont be able to transfer them to Qantas FF points.
The Citibank customer service person then suggested that I go and spend $3000 on something to get the additional 3000 points needed! What a cheek!
My understanding was that if you opt-in to the QFF direct scheme by 31 Mar, you can elect to have your outstanding reward points transferred. If you opt-in afterwards the points will expire.
That isnt mentioned in the T&C booklet they sent out however it would be nice if they did allow you to take all the citi points across automatically.
Maybe this charge is only if you transfer through the call centre, free if you do the transfer online?Just tried to transfer points across to QFF account & was told their would be a charge of 2000 points for the transfer,If I opt in to the qantas direct program I pay $19 & no 2000 point fine. So you are charged points if you want to transfer & pay bucks if you want to be in the program .
Called the customer service centre this morning. Told that the minimun transfer is still 10,000 point to QFF. I only have 4K in my platinum (fee free for life upgraded from Gold card). Ask about whether they can waive the $19 annual fee for the new direct QFF transfer program if I am a CitiGold customer, but they reply 'NO'.
Any suggestion or any special number that I can call to reach the new QFF program hotline?![]()
