I called today and they confirmed that the 80k bonus would apply as that was still on offer at the time of signup. Interestingly when they confirmed my QFF number it was completely different to what I had given them at the time of activation. If we had not corrected this the transfer to qff would have failed at the end of the billing period. So if you are redeeming to qantas I would advise you to call again and double check the number for the first transfer.

I got my card 2 weeks ago while I was in the UK so have just activated it and bought a few bottles of wine with it to check I got the 80K points and sure enough there they are :)

Did your Points come through after the first spend or after the first statement?

Ive just applied but am slightly concerned I may not get approved due to being 1 month in new job and new address.... Earnings are fine...

can anyone advise would sending in my yearly AMEX Centurion summary help the process... spend shows 100K and obviously paid in full each month??

Citi assess your total set of numbers so having a lot of cards with lots of limits does not help. I would just wait for Riaz to assess your circumstances and have your mobile phone on to take a call. They will ask for certain information so you should get that to them immediately.
At our office we have 3 new applicants and I am watching their progress at the moment.

I doubt anyone will be able to answer your question with any certainty, but I suspect this may help, especially if you end up dealing with Riaz (most (all?) of us have for Select applications) as he seems to be very "commercial" about the way he assesses applications. When you speak to him, just ask.

I was excited to speak with Riaz a couple weeks ago, however he was certainly not "commercial". I got all the 'post July 1 this is how we need to do things' speech.
No credit increase (despite spending in excess of it for years) and apparently they no longer work on "accessible income" like Amex does. I did however talk to a supervisor and got the Select card fee-free for life. Partial win...

go on then, don't be such a tease! are you a citigold customer etc etc?

I followed other advice in this thread and put 200K into a citi savings account, which apparently means I'm citigold. Apart from the gold theme when you log into internet banking there doesn't appear to be any difference. Citibank customer for 8 years, paid card off monthly, spend is nowhere near what some others have but still a good chunk. My blood type is O-. Anything else? ;)

That's a pity to hear - sounds like things might have changed :-(

Just for my personal knowledge, could you please clarify what's meant by "accessible income" and how it differs from what Citi will consider?

That's a big win! Please share how you achieved this?

I found him quite hard work! Although he was accommodating. My impression is they are more comfortable with employees rather than those of us who may be self employed / business people. Certainly they struggle to see that some of your financial commitments may indeed be paid from gross income rather than the taxable income and indeed I should probably have accounted for this in my application having read the advice on here. I provided 2 years of ATO assessments above their requirement, anyway he went off and spoke to my accountant. 4 days later card arrived 50k limit so generally very pleased.

Now bye bye Amex!

Does Citi take novated leases into consideration? My taxable income is less than my salary (and under the threshold) due to such a lease.

You qualify with a tax assessment of $120,000 or more. That means after everything has been deducted like salary sacrifice items you are still over that base number.

Imere12 is the only one who reported she got one without that test number but she was a Citi customer already and I think she put up a great case at that time due to the N Qld cyclone.
I tend to read everything on Citi threads so I think what I have said is accurate.
My 3 colleagues now are at Yes so Citi Select has been busy. They are all going Krisflyer option.

I know that this thread has been dormant for a while but it seemed the most appropriate place given nobody has been too keen to pick up the Citi Select card lately...

As an employee (as compared to those of you who are 'self employed' for Citi's purposes) I'm wondering whether there is any likelihood of me being able to get the card without meeting the $120k requirement...

I'm not far off it but given the above comments about them being pedantic I'm wondering what my chances are... I'm an existing customer and they keep reminding me that they are pleased with the amount of time I've been a customer every time I call :p

Any 'real world' experiences would be greatly appreciated
