In our transfers they have only taken a couple of days to arrive in Kris Flyer.

Same for me in the past, but there does appear to be a problem at the moment - I requested a transfer on, IIRC, Monday night, and the points still haven't shown up in my KrisFlyer account. Annoying, as I want to book me some Suites! Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

benpastor, thanks for posting that, saves me ringing Citi. How long have you been waiting for your points to appear?

The transfer time was four business days a couple of weeks ago - to Kris and to Velocity

Seems to be a problem at the moment with transfer times - I'm still waiting after 2 weeks. This is unusual as previously my transfers have only taken a few business days.

Has anyone else had a problem with Citi - Kris transfer times recently ?

As per posts a bit further back in the thread, both myself and benpastor are having problems at the moment too :-( Well, I am at least - ben hasn't posted again since.

My previous experience has also been a day or two. I actually rang them on Thursday to query what was going on and was firmly told they couldn't (read: wouldn't) look into it further until 14 days had passed. For me that is Monday, so I'll be calling again tomorrow and will post the outcome. It's pretty annoying, but I can't really complain too much given that the stated transfer time is up to [some amount of time much longer than 14 days which I can't remember off the top of my head].

Wings, on which date did you transfer your points? And did you do it online, or over the phone? For me it was 03/12 and online. I've been corresponding with another AFFer via PM and he had a Citi -> KF transfer complete in a day or two last week. He, however, did his transfer over the phone. So I'm guessing there's either an issue with online transfers, or there was an issue ~2 weeks ago (given both you and I transferred ~2 weeks ago, and benpaster's post references an e-mail from ~2 weeks ago) which we've all gotten caught up in.

I transferred online from Citi on Sunday 2/12. The status is showing as "fulfilled" 2/12 but nothing has come into Kris !

I'll give it a few more days....

I transferred some points on the 04/12 and are still waiting also ( Online transfer ). A little annoying as the saver flights I wanted to book are now gone.

Better phone Citi based on my 4 phone calls. It has never taken longer than 2 days for my transfers.

I did, today. Didn't get too far :(

First call I got transferred to someone from the rewards team, who did listen to my issue (that apart from the delay, others have had points transfers submitted later than mine processed in a day or two) and tried to help - but didn't get any further than - "I've sent an e-mail to the rewards team and they will get back to you in 5 days".

Tried again later in the arvo and convinced the agent who answered to help, rather than putting me through to rewards (my thinking here was that the Select agents might have more pull than the rewards agents who assist all cardholders). Again she was attentive and understood the problem, and after some pushing put me on hold for quite a while to "go speak to the rewards back office". She eventually came back and said all they'd tell me was "it can take up to 28 days, go away" (paraphrasing). Kept pushing and she said she'd try again and call me back.

As promised the same agent called me back a few hours later (good!) but still had the same answer. Pushed back again and she said she'd get her supervisor involved in speaking to the back-office again, and call me tomorrow. I don't expect a different answer, but at least both agents understood the issue properly and I got the call-back as promised.

If I do get the same tomorrow I'm going to keep transfer the points I need right now from Amex, and then keep calling Citibank back until I get an Australian-based agent - in general my experience of all Select CSRs has been very positive, but the Australian-based ones seem to be a further cut above the rest.

Success! Well, maybe not quite success (no points yet), but definitely progress.

A different CSR called me back an hour or so ago and informed me that they'd investigated the issue and found that my transfer had been rejected by KrisFlyer due to no name being attached to it. She said they'd already re-processed the transfer today and I could expect to see the points appear within the normal timeframe (i.e. a day or two). Hopefully that turns out to be the case. So, anyone else with the same issue, suggest you ring up and press them to investigate - as you can see from my recent posts it took a bit of convincing but they will investigate before the full 28 day transfer time (as per T&Cs) has passed.

I just double-checked on the Citibank website and my name is definitely saved / pre-populated for KrisFlyer transfer there, so clearly it was a system glitch of some sort. No idea if it's a glitch specifically affecting website transfers, or a general glitch that affected all transfers for a period of time, but probably safer to ring up to make any transfer in future!

Are points only transferable to the card holders's krisflyer account? Or can the points be transferred to friends kf account as well

And now confirmed success - the points showed up in my KrisFlyer account this afternoon, a fraction more than 24 hours after I received the call from them yesterday explaining the issue and saying they'd re-processed the transfer. :)

Obviously the initial issue is annoying, and I don't think I should have had to push them so hard to investigate it, but kudos to Citibank for the fact that once they agreed to investigate they did it quickly, they completed every follow-up call to me that they promised, and they were proactive in fixing the problem (i.e. immediately reprocessing the transfer once they figured out the issue).

Anyone else with the same issue - highly recommend you call and push for an investigation!

Now, off to book my first ever Suites flight... whee!

Pretty sure (actually very sure - just not absolutely 100% positive) that its too the cardholder's account only.

Happy hunting wafliron with those Suites in Saver. I was really impressed so good luck and enjoy clicking that one into your flying schedule. Now which champagne........you can try both!

I've had Citi Select for over 1.5 years and it's been my experience that they do not charge any currency conversion fee, contrary to what the documents may say.

So whilst overseas I use my select for credit purchases and 28 degrees to withdraw cash and pay for those cash only places. Works well.

I use 28-degrees for credit purchases while the Select stays behind as a 'reserve'.

I am yet to be convinced of the point benefits once you take the fees / exchange rate into account.

Maybe someone with better numbers skill can convince doubters like me that the 5-point per overseas spend is worth the rewards points despite the fees etc...

BTW, when I informed Citi of my travel (to avoid possible blocking), they expressly remind me of the 3% conversion fee.

Sure, it has not been applied in your case but why would Citi remind me of something they are not doing !

Simple, $34k overseas spend gives you enough miles for a one-way suite ticket to Europe. 3% is a fee of about $1000, the ticket costs $10000. So for the price of an Economy ticket, you get a Suite ticket.

I think I may try for a Test cricket match in England this year. There aren't too many families in Suites so I think I may try school holidays if the cricket club can get me a couple of tickets.
Citi Select running at its finest with Kris miles!
