When did you apply for both the Virgin and Qantas cards?Just a Citibank datapoint (particularly around the 6 month unofficial wait period). Have just closed a Virgin Flyer card and a Qantas card in the past couple of weeks - both issued by Citibank and was approved for this card today.
I guess I wouldn't tempt fate with getting the same card within a 6 month card - I did with the flyer unsuccessfully 3 months later then was successful on same card after 9 months.

I've can't recall any situation where a gift card did not qualify as a valid spend. In fact many of us specifically buy gift cards for this reason.does coles gift card purchase qualify for points earning?
