Last of the CX F lounge offerings at YVR. I'm in The Pier at HKG as I write this. Wow! Why waste time in YVR?

The best feature of YVR IMHO is the fish tank in the new international wing, en route to the CX gate.

I don't think 'uncluttered' was in the architect's brief. And parking the buggy just where people will queue to board wasn't useful.

CX J set-up on B777. Pretty good - lots of leg room (natch) and a decent sized footwell. Heaps of stowage space and a good sized shelf for junk and the PFB

No  . Flight was a bit late and immigration took a while, and I was meeting some-one for dinner, so didn't want to invest the time .. this time. Just as well, as getting a taxi from Kowloon station took over 15 mins!!

When I arrived back at the airport this evening, I went to the airport info desk and asked the not unreasonable question (I thought) whether I could enrol now .. land side. After a grilling of why I wanted to do it, and under what airline etc etc .. the answer was 'no, only when you arrive'. That's 5 mins of lounge time, right there.

For me it was third time lucky (first time landed too early, second time landed too late)

On board the flight from YVR to HKG.

Lunch and dinner menu:

For lunch, I had the duck and then the pork. Both were very nice. The CSM introduced herself and we had a brief chat; overall the service was good. It was a good, business class experience all round.

Cheeses and port. The CX amenity kit is a soft wrap-around. Contents are adequate; the standard stuff.

I was meeting some-one for dinner when I arrived, so I didn't have the on-board dinner.

Airport Express to Kowloon station, then, as the Cordis Langham (formerly Langham Mongkok) isn't on the Airport Express shuttle bus route, I got a taxi (an arrival first!! I usually stay at the Mira which, while not on the route, is only a short walk from a drop-off point). Bloody 15 mins to get a taxi!! They just arrived one every minute or so at the Kowloon Station pick up point. Arrived at the Cordis about 2 hours after getting off the plane - a long time from what I'm used to.

I have done the train ride from Toronto to Halifax. Mind you it was almost 20 years ago so not sure my knowledge is still relevant!

Thanks RooFlyer for taking the time to write another interesting TR.
