Coles gift card offers

What's 10,000 over 4 weeks offers?
Coles periodically offer 10,000 bonus Flybuys points if you spend X amount in one transaction each week for 4 weeks. The exact amount they require you to spend is determined on your usual shopping spend. Buying gift cards will not count towards the spend amount required for the points, but it will increase what they see as your usual spend. EG usually mine are $50/wk for 4 weeks. I bought a stack of cards and my next offer was $250/wk for 4 weeks.

Maybe it's differen't if you put the gift cards on a separate transaction so it codes as gift cards, not general groceries?
I tried that, it still bumped my amount to spend up to $250/wk from $50/wk.

I did this last week, on the tcn site, you punch in your numbers and convert it to Uber, they email you a code to add to your account
ah sweet, found it! Selling our secondary car since we never drive it anymore, I just take Uber wherever when I need it now

+$400 for offers for my offers. And this hasn't changed despite 80 days+ overseas with 0 purchases in Australia.
If you can do multiple small purchases for a few weeks and don’t put any large spends on you account that should lower the amount.

I just move between Flybuy accounts for major spend and do $2-3 single purchases on the account with the highest spend target. Works regularly to get back down to a $50 or $60 4 week 10,000 points.

I was wondering about that as a strategy. I only want maybe $300-400 in GCs to pay the usual bills and get some cheap VA points for it. I could buy $100 on both accounts this week separately from our groceries as we are in Week 3 of Spend X/10k. Then do the same next Monday so it's spaced out a bit.

Nope. There's no way around this, except time or a new account. This is very well documented in other places.

I appreciate you have a better understanding of the program than me and definitely a long time between big spends is a major factor.

My experiences might be an outlier but it works for me, I recently dropped from a $120 x 4 weeks offer to $70 x 4 week offer by only doing $3 spends for 6 weeks (3 times a week) and using another FB card for larger purchases. Note it might have been 4-7 weeks between 4 week offers I didn’t keep extract records but it was short.

Quite possible it was a coincidence but it’s worked many times for me ie using multiple low transactions and no major spend for at least 4 weeks resulted in a big drop. Maybe low spends didn’t count as a spend in the system so hit the no spending for a long time reset.

Note doing the small / micro shops is easy for me walking past a store every day and might not be possible to others so maybe not a lot of people using my approach.

I was hoping time heals wounds but I came back after four months OS to absolutely zero coles flybuys offers, high spend or otherwise. There was a buy cleaning products comp to win some points and a couple of unappealing LL and target offers.

Wife's account however had $50/week for 10k plus a spend xx (?) for 1500pts, and a 5x points on biggest spend. 🤷‍♂️

I just bought $1400 worth of gift cards, to spend on a new washing machine. Why just pay outright when you can grab 28,000 points at Coles? 😂 Looking forward to making the poor guy/gal at The Good Guys process 14 gift cards

I am curious, has anyone looked into Onepass for $40/year? It has 5x flybuy points for spending at officworks, target and kmart. I wonder if gift cards are excluded for the flybuy multipliers. This could be an interesting way of earning KF point after the devaluation.

Worth trying but they're pretty good at excluding GC spend from other multipliers. Also I imagine it will force you to scan your card every shop to access the 5x and other benefits, meaning over time your spend targets might increase.

On the speculation of what resets offers - I have a hunch their is a seasonal aspect to it i.e. how much did your account spend this time last year.

Not my experience across a few different accounts so think there is more too it than the blanket assumption that these will dramatically increase the spend offer requirements.
