Coles gift card offers

5th store held stock out back until this morning
20 so far 😜

This was a relief for me. Checked 4 stores yesterday and none had any on the shelves. First store this morning (one that I visited yesterday) and there were heaps! This could be lucrative! :p

Dude in front of me this morning bought five using cash. Not sure if he's onto something, up to something, or only playing half-heartedly.

I bought at two different stores and both times was asked if I was being scammed. If I knew I was being scammed, would I say yes? It really just raises more questions....

Can't see any obvious advantage to cash but remains financially viable even if he doesn't have a points-earning card.
I suppose if he only had an eftpos, it would be a way of buying other goods online

Bought some at about 8 am & still unable to use.

When I try to pay with them it says insufficient balance. I checked the balance on colesmastercardbalance.com.au it shows full $250 value remaining on the card.

Anyone else had a similar issue?

I've been able to use mine. You need to wait the full 4 hours.

Anyone been able to rinse and repeat? Reports from Ozb indicate that older purple cards and Vanilla cards from Feb deal didn't work when trying to pay for the current yellow $250 cards.

Purple no longer recognized to buy from Coles I found this morning.. 21 now had to get from behind the display as rack cleared... 9 to go 😜

No issues doing this for me. Unsure why there would be a problem using the older cards.

Does anyone know how the pins work for these cards? Can I simply enter any pin I like the first time I use them or do I need to set the pin online prior?

for those of you playing the coles $250/100 game, dont forget to scan the big barcode at the back, not the small one at the front,

the system has a mini hissy fit, and some inexperienced staff call the supervisor

Ignore this. The paper in the package says to put in any pin you like on first use. Great!

I was just pressing enter which prompted the checkout staff to get me to sign which in turn slowed the split payment process right down! :(

Yes you need to be 'Match Fit' to use these cards.

BTW, queued up behind a family group of 4 at Coles in Chatswood Westfield this morning. They bought 4 lots of 5 *250 cards between them and paid in cash. WTF?

All yellows gone in warringah mall by time I arrived
I usually don't recycle as it seems a waste of CC points and a hassle but above post suggests might be easier than I thought (and stock levels are generally high)

At my local Coles around 12 noon....all set up nicely with balloons etc....I took 5 x$250 cards when a middle aged lady of a certain background which you can guess rushed in from nowhere and grabbed all the remaining $250s.....maybe 20+?. I then noticed some of the $250s hanging on the gift card rack...she pushed past me and grabbed the remainder of the $250s...I was a bit shocked to say anything and I noticed later she went to different checkout counters to pay...now you know why these cards are so hard to find!!

Lots of stock on the south side of Cairns. All required manager authorisation. Apparently the checkout operators had to do scam training this morning (although it wasn't clear if that was related or not).

Hopefully there are still $100 cards on the shelf tomorrow and I can go back and buy them with the $250 cards I bought today.
