Coles gift card offers

I read on Ozbargain that buying the Mastercard giftcards stuffed up people's $50x4 weeks = 10000points.
i.e. the gift card purchase counted towards Flybuys activity.
Any data points?
It does usually count. Fortunately, I have a large family

Not sure why you need 'data points'. This is extremely well known and warned about here repeatedly. That's why people have multiple accounts.

And I got 3 data points, including yours ;)

I use Flybuys to convert to Velocity Points, so only have the one card.
Time to get into multiple accounts...

I’ll give you my data point: this has not effected my offers materially/at all despite buying in the area of $200k of these gift cards when they used to run the 10% offers and scanning my flybuys every time. I also max out the bonus point gift Mastercard offers every time they are run. Offers remain very similar. So there are different experiences here and not possible for anyone to say definitively how it works. Maybe buying these will affect your offers and maybe it won’t. Still worth getting multiple accounts for other reasons though.

when getting multiple accounts is it ok to use same info eg phone number, email, adress and just different names or would this raise red flags?

I am thinking of doing the same; but my problem is, I'm in Sydney, and I find that it's generally very hard to even find 5 gift cards in a store. So what's the point of opening more Flybuys accounts?

Well, until recently, I walked into a regional Coles and there were so many, I was like a kid in a candy store. Unbelivable.

Maybe I should forget the supermarkets in Sydney, and just jump onto an intercity train on Wednesday nights ......

Why would you make it so obvious? Why not use a different phone and different e-mail and different address? Use work phone, use a different free e-mail, use a different address (say work address). It's called staying below the radar.

My experience is that you need a different email to access the account

I would keep it simple if possible but if necessary I would do as you suggest, what number off accounts do people have?
And when needed is it easy enough to roll the point from multiple accounts into the main account to transfer into Velocity points?

If you have multiple cards attached to one account, then all Flybuys points sit in there. You cannot transfer points between separate FlyBuys accounts.

You can do this through Family Pooling. Just pool all VFF to one account, FB will transfer to VFF and then pool in the main account.

The names on FB and VFF must match. I am unsure if it is possible for one VFF to receive points from more than one FB account (assuming the same name opens different FB accounts)

That’s the problem if you have multiple accounts attached to one account they become one account , no point, I think the thing to do is connect accounts in the future to the account that you have attached to a velocity accoujt and do a point dump then, just curious on what people do,

I've had some luck before in the outer fringe suburbs of western and south-western Sydney in finding gift cards.

For example, yesterday I was shopping at Coles in Richmond, and there was plenty of stock available of the TCN gift cards from this week's offer. I've also been successful in the Campbelltown area in the past.

Very interesting gift card offer this week at Coles:

I believe this is one of the more generous bonus point offers when it comes to Visa gift cards (supposing you can use 100% of the value on the card, you are spending $7 for what is 2000 Virgin points. If we conservatively value 1 Virgin point at a cent, that's $20 in value on a $7 out of pocket cost, and certainly one could easily get more than 1 cent per point value in redemptions).

Not sure if anyone else has had the chance to check yet but I visited several Coles this morning in Melbourne’s east and couldn’t find a single $250 either in the gift card area or when asking staff!

Managed to get 19 cards over 4 stores this a.m.
Seems to be reasonable stock in many
You may find it easier to split the transaction as 5 cards triggers an $1100 additional approval (needed to find a special supervisor in 2 stores before I changed practice)

I popped into Coles this morning and they had none on display. I asked at the customer service desk and they said they’re keeping them behind the counter.
