Coles gift card offers

This is what I'm gonna try:

I've had some luck before in the outer fringe suburbs of western and south-western Sydney in finding gift cards.

For example, yesterday I was shopping at Coles in Richmond, and there was plenty of stock available of the TCN gift cards from this week's offer. I've also been successful in the Campbelltown area in the past.

Gonna take the Newcastle or Illawarra intercity train. The train ride along the Hawkesbury is amazing šŸ˜

Quite a few left in Coles Kirwan (Townsville) this morning. Got one yesterday and wanted to see if it was accepted towards a cruise payment. It didn't yesterday, but worked fine this morning, so went back to get the rest. The Mastercard balance website seems to be having problems.

It's always been temperamental but recently completely unusable. I've given up with it and just call the automated number on the back of the card now.
And this automated phone system will shut down (to prevent fraud?) if you call it too many times.

I had to pay my strata a few weeks ago, so I used heaps of $250 cards, called the automatic phone service to checked a few times, it then actually gave a recorded message that it would no longer take phone calls for a while.

So it's better to call the customer service line, and tell them that they need to tell I.T. to reset the web site. That's what I do everytime to get it fixed.

You'll need to go to the edge of civilisation. Coles Lilydale perhaps?
Update: success finding the gift cards at the Kaleen store in Canberra today! Over 10 on the shelves.

Does the ACT count as the edge of civilisation?

I thought you had to be 16 to have an FB account. Not sure if the DOB was accidentally entered that it would match with VA account (probably would).

At one stage I spent a lot at Coles. The extra SCs by splitting spend across an additional FB account and family pooling helped a bit. I now spend a lot at WW as Point Club Plus (plus Eveeyday Extra points and Wish discounts) currently proves more useful

That transfers to Velocity ?

Yes. And then pools to my Velocity account.

Well seeing as the DOB has been brought up I may as well mention that it isnā€™t cross checked. Or at least hasnā€™t been in my experience. My 10 year old is not a 10 year old as far as flybuys knows.

off topic sidenote: can confirm DOB is checked when transferring Velocity to Krisflyer...

Well theres a truckload of them on the shelves at my local -
Interesting that there no sign up for the bonus points - had me rechecking the catalog to make sure WA was in on the deal :)
DM me for location if you want to know the specific shop (Within 1 hour drive from Perth)

You can't call it anymore. Someone used the automated phone system too many times. I just called it, and it immediately went to a recorded message that it is "not accepting calls at the moment, goodbye!"

A cynic might opine that not being able to check card balance is by design.

People give up = greater unused balances = increased profit margin.

Lucky I'm not a cynic.
