I applied for this card, admittedly under a slightly different offer, about 12 days ago and haven't received my card yet. Compared to other cards, this seems to be an unusually long time.

To those that have applied for this card, how long should I expect to wait for the card?

Thanks in advance for any help!

For those that took up this offer, when did the annual fee $99 hit the account.
I already received first months statement - no fee on it.

Bump on this one too.

For recent card holders, how long should I wait before I assume my card has been lost in the post?

They are based offshore and the postage takes a while, 7-10 business days.

They also took 5 weeks to process my secondary card because of a backlog. When I called to tell them it had been lost in the post (having got back from holiday surprised that it hadn't turned up), they admitted they hadn't sent it yet, and their emails to say it had been sent were automated and not to be confused with reality.

So... I'd call them anyway to see if they've actually sent it.

Righto. Not quite the AMEX card delivery experience then. Thanks for the replies, very much appreciated! I won't report it lost quite yet then.

A quick update on my card delivery. After four and a half weeks the card hadn't arrived so I called them back again to find out when I should expect it to arrive. I was able to convince them to send a replacement card out which took 10 days to arrive.

Good thing I wasn't in a super hurry for this card!

Is your current credit card getting less rewarding? Great news - with a Coles Rewards Mastercard you’ll collect 2 points for every $1 you spend, everywhere you shop, every day, with no limit on the points you can collect.*

Right now you’ll also collect 20,000 BONUS POINTS if you apply and are approved for a Coles Rewards Mastercard by 30 November 2017 and make a purchase in the first 30 days.+

Plus you’ll receive an exclusive upgrade for three FREE months of Velocity Explore Gold membership, including Virgin Australia Lounge access on your flybuys-linked, new or existing Velocity Frequent Flyer membership.° If you’re already a Velocity Gold or Platinum member you’ll maintain your existing status.

+New customers who apply and are approved for a Coles Rewards Mastercard between 6 November 2017 and 30 November 2017 and make a purchase (excludes cash advances and cash equivalents) within 30 days of card approval will be credited 20,000 BONUS POINTS to the flybuys account linked to that credit card within 2 weeks of that first purchase. You have been specifically selected for this offer and it is not transferable. Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and is not available when closing/transferring from another Coles Credit Card.

No promo code mentioned.

In general I like this card, however I have had the card rejected quite a few times when making overseas transactions. I will get the mastcard verification page then it will fail and say please contact Coles MasterCard. I have called them each time only to be told to try again later, which I have done with the same error. Instead I have used another MasterCard only to have the verification work and receive a SMS with the code required to make the transaction.

Had as anyone had the mastcard verification work with their Coles MasterCard?

It has been working ok for me, although not using the SMS method. Instead I'm able to select a different option (I can't remember the exact text sorry), that allows me to enter two other pieces of verification information about the account and then it lets the transaction go through. If memory serves me correctly, I think I've been given the same options with my 28 degrees card too at times.

Fingers crossed it keeps working for me and I hope you manage to get it sorted!

Anyone have an idea whether there is likely to be another 3 month velocity gold offer?
i would like to know this as well. we need to find a way. I applied for the virgin Australia business accelerate program but I need to spend 2k through the business portal before they give me gold but I made all my bookings by using a travel agent and did it over the phone for children add ons. how do I get VA to add or link those to my abn I guess its bit late to do that now? I too need to find a way to get gold before the end of the year so I don't have to pay for luggage on a go fare via VA to NZ later in the year.

I am sure the offer which includes the Virgin 3 month explorer Gold is targeted to specific customers.
Nice thing is you will get 3 months taste of Gold which gives you unlimited entry to The Lounge for you and 1 guest, 2 bags free check in up to 23 kg each, priority boarding, priority upgrade , extra frequent flyer points when travelling and a few other benefits. Remember you must obtain at least 80 status credits within 3 months of being approved to keep the Gold benefits for 12 months.
A 1 way business class fare from say Sydney to Gold Coast will give you 50 - 55 status credits depending on the fare paid (about $500) , the cheapest ticket 5 and other options 10- 15. you can also earn sc's with Fly Buys 1 sc per $100 spent up to a max of 10 per month.
So, to get 12 months of Gold you will have to spend about $1000 to get 80 status credits, if you fly a bit, it is nice to have, as the lounge is great place to go to relax in and generous baggage allowances (2x free 23kg ) and even more on USA routes.
If you are already a member on Gold you will loose all of your sc's in your account to date, so if you are Gold and think you will get enough sc;s to keep Gold before your annual review date, then don't bother about this obviously.
All in all if you get approved in time for this Mastercard and get 20000 Fly Buys points as well , then it is worth it as the 20000 points value more than covers the cost of the annual fee.

IIRC even if you don't meet the requirement for Gold (which is what happened to me) you transfer to Silver for 12-months which comes with handy benefits including free bag and 2 x lounge visits.

Explore Gold is a 3-month period to achieve 80SCs. It doesn't matter when you hit 80, you will get 12 months of Gold starting from the end of the 3-month period.

If you don't make 80 within the 3 months you will get 12 months of Silver.
I am not sure but I wouldn't think so as Silver and Gold both require 250 and 500 status credits to reach, and 200 and 400 per year after that to retain respectively. The targeted offers are to make people spend money on flights , and is a great thing to have if you use it.

Thats lucky

Do you know if it’s a soft land to silver with Explorer gold if you don’t meet the 400 status credit to requailfy for gold?

Not sure what you mean but what I wrote is correct. With Explore Gold you have three months to achieve 80SCs, with a review at the end of that period - so it doesn't matter if you hit 80 on the first day or the last day. If you don't hit 80 within the three months, you will get 12 months of Silver instead of Gold.

Thats lucky

Not lucky, it's part of the offer :)

Flybuys offers Virgin Australia Gold perks for up to 15 months - Australian Business Traveller

Earn at least 80 status credits and notch up at least one eligible sector during that trial period and you’ll then receive a further 12 months of ‘real’ Velocity Gold status with all benefits included.

If you don’t meet that target by the end of your Explore Gold trial period, you’ll instead be given Velocity Silver status for 12 months, Australian Business Traveller has confirmed with Virgin Australia.
