Re: Singapore Airlines reducing A380 services SYD and MEL

Apologies. 777-300ER!

Well definitely good for you. I agree that 11A (and K) are the pick of the bunch as far as seats go on that aircraft.

Its like going from the worst possbile long haul J seat to the best there is (forgetting that the 77WN exists) :D

And I have managed to do it without any status. ;) I wonder what the elite would think?

Some people used to do a similar thing, but the other way.

Because of SQ's restrictions on booking J/F/R for *A partner redemptions, people used to try and 'predict' a equipment swap from the 772 or the 773 to the 77W/388 and book the flights in advance on the old configs, hoping to get a new one when SQ swapped the planes out on the route.

I am not that clever. ;)

Me neither.

Interesting quote in the SMH article - "Singapore Airlines has been struggling to fill seats on flights to Australia after a steep increase in capacity, with its load factor on flights to the South West Pacific region falling to 74.3 per cent in March from 77.4 per cent last year"
This certainly hasn't translated into being any easier to book an J or F award...not in my experience anyway.
