Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

Agree.

They were provided by @Scr77 in this thread (although may have changed since that date):

I got similar problem as mentioned in the thread above. Applied for the Ultimate Awards and chose $5000 as the CL during application. There was no warning or pop-up or anything during the application that it is for the Standard Awards card, all the emails and text from CBA were clearly mentioned I applied for and approved for a Ultimate Awards card... until I received a standard awards card in the mail.

Called Commbank, got someone to lodge my feedback and promised to call back after talking with a supervisor... they called me back and explained because I chose the $5,000 limit it was automatically downgraded to the Standard. Explained to them that it was not my intention and if the do that the need to have my consent or at least need to inform me during the application. After all can CBA automatically give a person a different home loan product (inferior one) than the home loan the person applied for, without even asking.

I lodged an official complaint to CBA about this. In fact looking at their website right now there is no mentioning about the minimum limit for the Ultimate card before one click “Apply now”, the minimum limit is only shown for the Standard, Platinum and Diamond awards cards but not for the Ultimate card. I am planning to send them all the screen shots as well as their emails in which they approved me for the Ultimate card to prove my case.

So what is the minimum limit for the Ultimate card?

Did your bonus points post relatively quickly?

CBA keeps showing me this as an offer in Netbank - the last 2 or 3 times I have taken a new product out from them they have ripped me off - so It'd be really nice to churn their card ...

Looks like they extended this offer to next April. Not going to go on this yet but will consider it.

Should I go for 40k QFF or 50k VFF... hmmm

I'm mid churn on this one.. spacing out my $5k spend over two months to make sure $35 fee is dodged.

Has seemed pretty easy so far. Painless application, easy activation.. shame it's a rubbish program for FF, but $500 of vouchers for no outlay is too juicy in the current environment. No need for FF points - use the vouchers and save grocery $$ for use on accommodation when us Victorians can eventually travel.

With the travel adventures card being devalued as they are getting rid of the free domestic flight... thinking of a VA/QF rewards card with no foreign transaction fees. Maybe I will wait until Macquarie comes back with the Platinum at least. No way Im hitting $2500 each month.

I totally missed this thread and this card, it does look like a good deal.. If spending $2.5k every month, handy for a free card with the O/S transactions fee waiver. The points earn is a bit misleading (3 points for O/S, 2 points for Supermarkets etc. and 1 point for everything else).

Sounds like you received a raw prawn. How did it end up?

I applied today and to my surprise got approved (this is my third new card in 8 weeks). Fingers crossed for a quick churn.

I've had a crack at it.. and I can't work it out. Wonder if anyone here has a view.

If I add my father as a supplementary card holder, does the travel insurance extend to him if he travels solo?

Not an issue currently, but with his ability to remain in Europe >90 days as an EU citizen, having a 12month maximum journey policy will be incredibly handy for him rather than having to extend his current policy on the card he has - 3month maximum.

Not sure he would be approved for this card as a self funded retiree, so exploring options to have a long term card that would meet his needs.

Anyone across how long after doing the minimum spend the points are awarded?

Did anyone receive the bonus points under this offer. I am still contemplating if I have to apply for this card since I already have the mortgage with Commbank. Will they offer free card and not charge any annual fee if you have prior relationship with the bank.

Trying to apply for this card via netbank. I get to the 'Review application' stage and click 'I agree' but then the application goes back to the input your details sections. Can't move forward with the application process.

Anyone else experience this and know what the issue is?

I think the Ultimate card isn't part of the Wealth package benefits so there will still be a monthly fee sadly.

I think this card might be a quick churn for the bonus points.

It's a glitch. On the final application screen there was some vague reference to this in the fine print. You don't need to do anything. It will just sit like that until they review your uploaded docs then it will drop off and you'll get the approved and later card despatched emails.

Took about 5 working days for me from application and document upload until approval.

There's 4 stages. I can't get to stage 3. Stage 4 is the documentation stage.
