Card Promotions Commonwealth Bank (Ultimate Awards Card) 100K award points – potentially fee free

Free cards generally don't come with many (if any) bonuses.
I still think there are a lot around. CBA Ultimate (70k QFF) is one provided a minimum monthly spend, Citibank Rewards (60k VFF) another, ANZ Rewards Black (80k Rewards=40k VFF) another just off the top of my head.

My question was mainly to check if there is any comm bank card with bonus points that can be clubbed with wealth package , so I get the points at technically zero annual fee.
All of their cards are annual fee free with wealth package except for Ultimate.
Whether you are entitled to signup points, i do not know. Suggest you read the wealth package agreement and the conditions for signup bonus.

FYI: thanks to all who suggested I make a formal complaint with the AFCA. I logged a complaint which they then logged with CBA on my behalf within 2 days. I got a call from CBA days later with an apology and an offer of compensation. I accepted and the matter was fully resolved within a week.

It's all a game. But those who dare win.

Second go with this card after I completed the 12 month lockout period. The new application clearly gave the option of opting for Qantas Points and even got me to type in my QFF number.

Hopefully its a better experience compared to what I have seen above now that initial issues with the QFF points system might have been resolved.

Taken this out for both me and OH, opted in to QF as 70k QF beats 100k CBA points - however, is it worth switching to CBA points after the SUB posts?

I'm wondering whether to start accumulating those to have some extra options - 99% of my spend on it is overseas so all 3 points/$1 (it's actually my best earning QF points card because of that).

I'd never had a Commbank card before this, already had a CBA transaction account and CommSec account, but the former is only used to fund the latter, so I'm pretty out of the loop in terms of CBA knowledge.

If it matters, QR is of most interest to me, since I'd finally have a way to generate Avios from Australia). Would be good to have the IHG option too, since I've just lost my legacy UK IHG cards, but the rate is garbage so I don't see myself using it.

I'm keeping this card. It does earn points but not at a great rate but is fee free providing the 2.5k spend per month. I will keep churning though cards like the Southern Aurora but it's always good to have one to have for automatic debits and not have to worry about it or plan for it as card change (unless a lot of time on hands). But, the O/S no fee transactions is a massive perk of this card.

Yeah I agree, no O/S fees is great and the ability to avoid the monthly fee is no hardship, so I'll prob keep it for at least one of us. Might close one in case I fancy churning CBA in a couple of years, if a decent offer is around at the time!

Yes a good card for overseas transactions with ability to eliminate card fee’s being welcomed although $2.5k spent monthly can be a challenge consistently or taking the effort to review before end of Statement period.

Received the 70k QF bonus points after 4th Statement, probably keep the card for O/S Travel early June but then cancel & serve waiting period.

Now transferrable to SQ too, according to an email I've received today. 3:1, which means o/s transactions now earn KrisFlyer miles $1:1...

Can confirm on my end that Commbank Awards now has the Krisflyer program. Looks like a very recent overhaul in fact. Aeroplan, Accor, Marriott, Wyndham now included if you dont opt for QF points.

- Asia Miles now 3.5:1 from 3:1
- Flying Blue now 2.5:1
- MileagePlus now 3.5:1 from 4:1

I did see that email, so that is a positive. I'm overseas at the moment and putting everything on that card and forgot about the 3 points per dollar for O/S - good earn rate. Shame they were dropped off the May 15% bonus for VFF (they were on November 21 bonus period).

The CBA credit card travel insurance thread is now locked so i am replying here.

From what i can tell it looks like the included travel insurance on the cards is essentially useless as it doesnt cover an corona related cancellations.

No Coves, but does have some other benefits.

Kris flyer has been available for a while. I transferred my points in November last year as part of the get gold without flying promotion.

there is a huge list of other things that can be claimed, so it is not useless at all.

If you want or are required to get corona insurance by your destination then it is!
Agreed, arguably at the moment, it’s one of the most important things!
