Indeed it was - I actually have loaded the following 4 photos and descriptions of meals (in Business) that they should consider.

Sliced cold Turkey drizzled with cranberry, avocado atop a bed of rocket (can't remember the yellow sauce)

I think it may be time to forget about VA's "community"
This latest one appears to be a total fail to me. "Tell us your all time favourite movie" is the topic Yet page two gave me a list of movie quotes you have match to the correct movie. I selected each one diligently but the page wouldn't let me progress, telling me I had to select an answer! I did. All of them. Maybe I failed in getting them all correct but the short and tall of it is that I couldn't tell them my all time favourite movie ... They wouldn't let me. :(

A pity you couldn't participate - unlike their other surveys there is actually a chance they could deliver on this one ...

Hopefully they ignore these selections and just focus on getting new release content.

I think one of the problems with these types of surveys is that they use the results (real or imagined) to support their own wants.

"after extensive consultation with our most frequent and valued clients, we are delighted to say that we've listened to you and to tailor your flying experience more to suit what you've requested, we are proud to offer you the very latest selection of movies ... Love Actually, The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars, Pretty Woman and ...wait for it ... Top Gun!"

What? They didn’t include Up In The Air? A classic FF movie.

Harvest Snaps - yummy. Had some over in the USA last week

Hopefully they don't ignore these selections otherwise there was no point conducting the survey at all. It would be counterproductive and only cement the apparent futility of the "community".

New content is a separate area for improvement that need not be impacted by providing people's popular selections.

It would be great if a survey actually resulted in delivering what people want (which remains doubtful in the case of food and lounge improvements). And again new content is a separate area for improvement that need not be impacted by providing people's popular selections.

Good movie, though the movie's backpack should have contained more about FF and less of all the other stuff ;)

Survey about charitable causes and the Fly Carbon Neutral Program, as well as turning uniforms into bears to sell onboard.

Additionally, they sought some feedback:-

Before you take off, we have a few quick questions to help us create a better Community Virgin Australia experience for you…

At least this time the questions were reasonable (not good, but reasonable) and the site worked for me, which the last two have not.

I think all big companies (in fact everyone) has moral obligations toward charitable causes (of course, I don't necessarily think all charitable causes are genuinely charitable, nor are all charitable organisations interested in anything more than supporting a few individuals rather large pay packet and junkets ... but that's beside the point), so that was a winner for me.

Any dino-poop guzzling airline being worried about, or at least the perception amongst clients of, carbon impact to the environment and global warming is simply a no-brainer, so that too won brownie points from me.

The up-cycling of uniforms was a bit out of left field. Obviously I think it is good that a company is considering the end of life uses for their waste and I'm assuming uniforms are a big waste for an airline where they have a large number of visible staff who must look their best at all times. Bears to sell on board seemed to be a big thing for them, but for me that can happen as side line to producing them for charities, and the turning of uniforms into teddy bears for the less fortunate kids (and let's face it, VA fly to many small impoverished countries, not to mention Australia and New Zealand's less well off citizens) is a fabulous idea and quite possibly a marketing winner (remember the old money boxes the banks used to give away in the shape of their own identity, like the old bank bldg. from the CBA), so that to was a good survey topic IMHO.

Far better than the previous tripe they've served up!

Completely agree with @swanning_it. A much more interesting survey and happily completed it. I have carbon neutral fatigue- never know what is really happening to what I pay. More communication is needed to personalise the delivery

eastwest101, excellent list, but re your point 8, I have never had any problems redeeming VFF points on SQ to Asia.

However with one or two exceptions in the past I have not travelled in school holidays, and nor have I attempted to find a FF seat to or from Europe (or LAX).

I got another email on 30 July but only got around to completing it today. Was about delayed flights and the options available for re-booking. I told them that giving pax options for other scheduled flights were the best. One wonders why they would think that merely giving the Guest Services number would be a palatable option - when many of us would rather go on line ourselves and sort it out (or if in the Terminal, use either The Lounge or a Service Desk).

Another useless survey. They tend to lock you out if your answers aren't what they want. Some survey!

What about those who don't see a benefit of in-flight internet.

So, am I misreading the latest trivia from VA Community??

All the probing of our infinite travel wisdom has led to the world first, meditation flight (or mediation flight depending upon which word was misspelt in the email ).

Well, I can only utter that I'm somewhat amused, bemused, surprised and disappointed that all the fanfare comes down to a meditation channel allowing us to have a "smiling mind" at 30 000'. o_O
